A rippling scream tore from her lungs as another wisp of green fire kissed her skin. A stinging sensation erupted on her legs where the fire touched. Sulfur like wind whistled past her making her wheeze. Her eyes burned with teats. This was her seventh day in hell.
This was her seventh day locked away in one of Hades' dungeons. This was her millionth cry of pain and despair. This was her trillionth tear. She lost count of the screams that the pain drew out of her.
She hung her head and muffled another scream. Her throat burned. She was surprised she could still scream or cry. She yanked on her chains again. An aching pain shot through her arm. She moaned and ground her teeth. She yanked again and tried to maneuver her way out.
"That's no use" a familiar voice filled the cavern. Andromeda whiped her head up towards the sound. The boy that had been helping her was here again. A small pale was in his hand.
He was around her age, 14 or 15. He had ghostly pale skin. His milky white skin was framed by a silky black mop of hair falling into his coal black eyes. He was thin, yet muscular from what she could tell. He wore a solid black shirt and jeans. The jeans were strapped with a black Stygian iron sword. It gave off a faint midnight glow.
He had been visiting her off and on through out the week. He supplied her with a little food and water. Patiently feeding it to her. He had yet to tell her his name. That annoyed her to no end. Of course it would. She was indeed a child of Athena. Anything she didn't know bothered her.
But nonetheless she was grateful to see him. "Water?" She croaked with effort.
He rubbed the back of his neck looking around. He nodded to the pale in his hand. "Um it's some ambrosia."
She gulped. "That's a lot of ambrosia. Wouldn't that like burn me- AHHH!" A splash of wicked orange red lava like lava skidded across her back. She let out a animal like yelp and arched her back as tears began to sting her eyes.
The boy flinched and looked towards the ground. He always did that when pain was brought. She laughed in a non amused away. "Guess y'all are intending to burn me up anyways." She joked.
He sighed and reached into the pale drawing a piece of yellow square. He walked over to her with a striding gait. He brought the piece of ambrosia to her mouth. She began to chew it numbly. The taste of silky French vanilla ice cream erupted into her mouth. The same taste of her favorite ice cream from Creol Creamery, an ice cream shop in New Orleans.
The pain inside of her began to numb. Not all the way though. She bit off more and more and more before he quickly took it away from her. She moaned at the loss.
"Are you insane!?" he growled." I'm trying to keep you alive. For what l? To have you kill yourself on an overdose of ambrosia?" His gaze hardened as he glared at her.
She glared back. "Try being in my position and see how much you eat!" she snapped back.
He threw his head back and laughed ruefully into the air. The sound echoed off the absodian walls. "I have been in your position Princess. And a lot worse. Much worse. I grew up in that position. I'm the Son of Hades!"
She groaned into the night. "Why are you so cold?!" she screamed at him.
He frowned at her. "You want to escape or not?"
"No I'd love to stay here and burn to the bone forever!" she told him.
He smirked. "For a daughter of Athena you'd think you would be smart enough to keep your pretty mouth shut."
Despite all that was going on she felt her face heat up. And it wasn't the fire all around her. He was always so mean and she felt so drawn to him. The sort-of-compliment he gave her was enough to make her blush.
Her limbs were feeling better now and she was ready to leave. We mind began to whirl. "Can you're sword cut threw the chains?"
"Don't you think I would've tried that already?" He snapped. "Of course it doesn't cut them open! they were forged by Hephestus himself. Infused with the magic of Hecate! A simple Stygian sword won't work!"
She rolled her eyes. "Well what do you suggest?" she asked raising her eyebrow.
He held up a vial of orange-ish liquid. He held a smug expression. "A shrinking potion! From Circe herself!"
"You went to Circe for me!?" she beamed.
He snorted. "Of course not. I know a guy."
"Who?"
He ignored the question and opened the bottle. He began to hold it to her mouth. She pursed her lips. "How do I know you aren't going to poison me?" She half joked.
He pressed his mouth in a thin line and looked up at her. "If I wanted to Princess I would've done it by now." he whispered. She held eh head high and held his gaze. He pressed the edge of the glass to her lisps and she drank the vial.
Instantly she shrunk down to the size of an average action figure. Her chains fell around her and she beamed at the boy. Free. He scooped her up in his hands and smirked. "You're welcome Princess"
