The annoying sound of my alarm goes off and I listen to it for a few seconds wishing it would stop, before remembering why exactly it was going off. It was a Monday, 6:00 am. Time to go to school. I humbled out of bed and slowly heading straight for the shower. I turned on handle and waited for the water to spill out of the shower head before stripping down out of my sleepwear.
The air seemed cold once I had my clothes off. It was late October, three days before Halloween. Halloween wasn't one of my favorite holidays. I don't know why, I just don't see the point in going from house to house, begging people for candy, when you can just get a job and buy it yourself. Either way kids don't need that much candy.
The warm shower brings me out of my thoughts. The feeling of the water pelting your back is so relaxing. I hum and wash my hair with my favorite shampoo and conditioner. I get out of the shower and get dressed, not paying attention to what I was wearing or if it matched. I ended up just picking my ripped jeans and a grey jumper. I grab my school bag and headed downstairs to get some breakfast.
My mom is slaving away over the stove cooking my spoiled sister, Makayla, breakfast. My mom never cooks, but my sister is "sick" so my mom babies her. I raise the finger at my sister, making sure my mom doesn't see. My parents own a motel and my mom and dad say that we have to be a "perfect family" to represent how perfect our motel is. Stupid, yes I know, but there is nothing I can do about it.
I sit down at the table next to Makayla "What's the occasion mom?" I ask, trying to hide the fact that I could care less. Mom smiled at me and said "Karson dear, you sister is sick, she says she has the flu". I rolled my eyes, when I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. The name Austin appears on screen.
Austin: Hey best friend
Me: Go away
Austin: Bad morning?
Me: You have no idea
I shut off my phone ignoring the buzz in my pocket of him replying. My sister fake coughs and puts that stupid fake sick look on her face. It's fake, but she's a pretty good actress, so my mom believes it. Makayla sticks out her tongue at me trying to be cocky. "Makayla! Be nice to your sister!" Mom pointed her index finger at her. I smirked and got up and excused myself. I looked down at my phone to see that it was now time to leave for school. I kissed my mom goodbye and I made sure to ruffle up my sisters hair before running out the door to my car.
I drove to my friends house, because she doesn't have a car, she forces me to drive her. I saw my best friend, Lindsey, come out. "Did you finish Mr. Jones' math homework?" She asks quickly. "Of course I did, do you need the answers again". She playfully glares at me then mumbles a shy "yes".
We were casually driving with a light conversation. She was talking about her boyfriend and how much she loved him. I looked and saw a what looked like a mansion. The people who lived their had to be rich. I was thinking about how I could never afford a place like that when a young man came out.
The boy was my age and in my grade. He was wearing a black leather jacket and torn light blue skinny jeans. He we getting on his motorcycle when he noticed Lindsey and I staring at him.
He looked directly at me and smirked. He waved and followed behind us for the rest for the five mile drive. I looked back in the review mirrors and would see his piercing dark blue eyes staring at me.
After what seemed like forever, we pulled up in the school parking lot. I quickly got out and ran inside, not really caring to wait for Lindsey. I ran straight in the bathroom and quickly shut the door behind me. My thick brown hair fell onto my shoulders. I thought back to the drive, wondering why he was staring at me. I didn't know him, but I know who he is.
Lindsey ran in the bathroom shortly after. She saw me and a look of relief washed over her face. "There you are" she exclaims. "Ya sorry, um, I really had to use the restroom" I said quickly. I walk out of the bathroom with Lindsey trailing behind me. I go to my table and sit down with my head between my arms.
I felt two hands on my shoulder and looked up to see Austin looking at me. Austin was the one person on the sports team that was not popular. He was great at basketball, and had the looks for it, but he never made any true friends on the team. "Whats wrong" he asks with concern evident in his voice. "Nothing" I mumbled avoiding his gaze. He smiled and wrapped his arms around me.
Suddenly I felt a pair of eyes on me. I looked around when I noticed the entire "bad boy" table was staring right at me and the center of the table being the boy with the piercing blue eyes.
