"Lilli! Lilli! Lilli! Time to go! Time to go!" My little sister, McKenna, squeals while jumping on the edge of my bed.

"Chill, Kenna, chill. I know you're excited, but I'm not a morning person." I state calmly looking over at the clock, "IT'S EIGHT O'CLOCK WE STILL HAVE THIRTY MINUTES!"

"Fine, but you better be downstairs to take me in ten minutes." She says holding up ten fingers in front of her face.

Once Kenna left to get ready for her big day, my face buried itself back into the warmth and comfort of the bed to get that very important, extra three minutes of sleep. Another voice rings out to break the silence, "Lilli! You better get your butt up, so that you can take Kenna to get her dress!"

I curse under my breath before saying, "Yes ma'am!"

The covers make their way off of my body. Cold air stings my bare skin. My feet hit the cold, hard ground. I make my way over to my dresser.

I need to wear something nice today. I'm so happy for my sister. My coming of age was so fun, hopefully her's will be just as fun. There was so any balloons and streamers at mine. I saw so many new faces that day. So many family members that I didn't even know existed!

Flashback

The sweet smell of cinnamon floated through the air. Children ran around sounds of laughter escaping their tiny bodies. Adults clustered in groups talking, waiting, for the ceremony to begin. Along with the sounds of joy and happiness, worry was also floating about through the worried groups of teens huddled in small groups rehearsing their lines with each other.

I wasn't worried at all. Actually, I was extremely excited for the day. My speech is memorized without a doubt.

"Lil! Get over here and help me practice!" Katie, my girlfriend of two months, called out gesturing with her arms to get to come over.

After jogging over, she envelops me in a warm hug along with a quick peck on the cheek. We pull away, and there is a vibrant red shade covering Katie's cheeks.

"Okay! Will you let me go over my lines with you, pleeease?"

"Sure!"

"Hello! My name is Ka..." Her voice soon drained into nothingness.

I was lost her beauty. Her smooth, pale skin. Her golden, green brown eyes. Her hair a beautiful pastel pink colour. Her hourglass figure. Her dark lipstick. The perfect eye shadow that not even a professional could match. She spoke with such fluency. Her voice like a chorus of angels speaking at once. She is amazing and she is mine. To think, all of this started from her complimenting me on one thing each day for a week. At first it started small with things like, "I love your blue hair," and then it slowly got more progressive like, "You look good in that shirt," when it finally got to the point where she asked me out. It was an amazing day, and how could I have said no to that face?

I float back into reality to see a hand vigorously waving in front of my face.

"Liiiiilli, Liiiiiilli. Lilli! Well! Hello, again! Welcome back to reality!" She says still waving her hand in my face.

"Hm. Oh, sorry, I blanked out in the beauty that you are," I reply smirking slightly.

"You are so annoying." She states punching my arm, hard.

"OW! That hurts you know!" I say running my arm.

"Come on we need to go sit down!" Katie says excitedly pulling me towards a couple of seats.

After rushing over to some seats to wait for the speeches to begin, Katie starts some small chat with one of her friends that I don't know. I don't know many people actually. My social circle is very small. Being an introvert is more my style. Now Katie on the other hand, is the definition of an extrovert and is a social butterfly. She knows so many people. My social circle expanded some because of her. It used to just be me and Jackie, my best friend, who moved away a couple years ago. I'm friends with Katie, but that's a given. I've also become friends with a few more people. Like Emily and Hailey. They're pretty cool. Emily is more like Katie and likes hanging out with people 24/7, but Hailey is more like me and doesn't hang out with many people and can enjoy a silence in a conversation.
