Hey guys, so, what better way to start off this Stirlingite convo book with who I think is one the best creative Stirlingite fanfiction writers on Wattpad?
TheStalkerArmy: What inspired you to join the Stirlingite community on Wattpad (or wattpad in general)?
AceFanfiction: Well, I had always been doing fanfiction type stories on my computer and on some of my other Instagram pages. I had been reading @hausofstirling (Instagram) old story that is no longer around, and I thought "Hey, I can do that." So I combined my action/horror style of writing with Lindsey Stirling, and hence my story was born. I guess you could say I just wanted to be respected and appreciated like she was. All the comments she got was really nice, and I wanted some of that love as well.
TheStalkerArmy: I've honestly loved reading your fanfiction, Z-Day. It's very diverse from the other Lindsey Stirling fanfictions I've read. So, what exactly was the set game plan on making this story? Were there any setbacks as far as writing in a certain style for the story or staying on the track of what the story really means to you?
AceFanfiction: Well, I had tried doing a more conventional story (but with my own character) but it just wasn't working out. I can write good romance, but it has to be in between action of some kind. After reading Insane and Beloved (great story, check it out) I saw that I didn't have to be conventional to get lots of reads and votes. I wanted to make it a dark story, so I naturally went with one of my favorite horror aspects. Zombies. I have had plenty of setbacks. For example, I worry people will care more about Lindsey and Gavi than my character (who is very important since the story is an odd parallel to my Stirlingite experience). It doesn't make sense yet, but it will when the story is over. I usually stay on track with my plot, I mostly just worry about getting negative feedback if I do something they won't like, which is going to happen. But I am determined to keep writing, and I hope my good writing will keep people interested.
TheStalkerArmy: Well, as we both share the same hopes that Stirlingites will stay positive about the story's content and keep people interested, I would like to ask, what advice do you have for any discouraged fanfiction authors just trying to find the "right" in their story?
AceFanfiction: Experiment. Try different things. You don't have to publish everything but just write. Let your thoughts just flow. Then, after some time passes, critique your work Does the plot look good? Is it something I can expand on? Your story will be bad if everyone else likes it but you. However, if you believe in your story, it will look a lot better. You have to love what you are writing. And don't be afraid to take long breaks. Never rush. Always read over and look for things that can be adjusted. As a writer, you have all the time in the world. Use it.
TheStalkerArmy: Perfectly was spoken, now, for my final question, if this was your last day on Wattpad what do you want your fans to walk away with through your writing or anything you do for that matter?
AceFanfiction: I would want them to know that I simply did as I wanted. That I didn't let others tell me what to do. That I had complete and full confidence in my own ideas and actions. That's how I would want to be remembered
TheStalkerArmy: Thank you for taking the time to let me interview you!
AceFanfiction: Of course. It was really nice!
Eh? Eh? Not bad for my first interview! Special thanks to AceFanfiction for being so gracious to do this interview with me. Go check out his story, Z- Day, book two is coming out soon from what I heard so stay tuned on his page for that!
As for now, see you guys tomorrow with the next interview! Mwah!
