We walked out to the parking lot they had right outside the building, and three different cars were sitting right next to each other. A pickup truck, a jeep, and a small black car. CC and Jinxx got into the pickup, currently having a conversation on whether or not if aliens were real. While Andy and Jake were getting into the smaller car. Ashley told me that I could ride with him since he adopted me, so I sat in the backseat. I'm not quite sure of how I think of these people yet, but I know that one day, this will all be just another faded memory.
I stared out the window as we exited the small town we were in and presumed a long drive toward LA. I was nervous to see the house, and how I would fix my life, if that's even possible at this point.
At some point around this time, a fell asleep. I soon woke up to the opening of a car door, and it being slammed shut. I was still pretty drowsy, and just felt strong arms wrap around me as I no longer felt the seat beneath me. The cool air of the night felt like ice against my bare skin. I was soon met with warmth and a closing door behind me. Whoever carried me in, took me to a dark room and set me on top of a soft bed. I curled up into a ball as they laid a soft blanket over me.Sleep came fast, but the morning even faster.
I walked out of the room. It didn't have much decor. It was just plain white. The sunshine came spilling through the windows. For guys that dress in all black, they sure like white. I walked down the hall, careful to not wake anyone who could possibly be sleeping. I found Ashley sitting on a barstool in the kitchen, drinking a cup of coffee while on his laptop. I didn't know what to say, but luckily he noticed me first.
"Afternoon." He said with a smirk. 'What?' I looked at the clock on the stove, and sure enough it was 1:00 in the afternoon. My eyes shot open, 'why didn't you wake up earlier? He could hurt you like the rest of them did!'
"S-sorry, sir. I-" he cut me off.
"And You don't need to call me sir. Call me Ashley or Ash if you aren't comfortable with calling me dad yet." He said with a small smile. 'He was trying to be nice. Huh.' "What would you like to eat for brunch?" He asked, still teasing me about the whole waking up at noon thing.
"Do you have Cheerios?" I asked
He looked taken aback "yeah, but wouldn't you rather have something like waffles or pancakes?"
"What are those?"
