During that war...many loved ones died that bloody day.

Erza fought against Kyouka, Goddess Of The Slave Planet. Erza might have gotten back some painful memories from all the torture...but she was able to defeat Kyouka.

Gray fought against his father, Silver, An Ice Demon/Devil Slayer. All because Juvia killed/destroyed the link that kept Silver alive, Gray was able to defeat Silver and get Demon/Devil Slayer magic.

Lucy was going against Jackal.
Lucy was able to defeat Jackal by the help of Aquarius...but it wasn't enough, Lucy had to sacrifice Aquarius to summon the Celestial King, and defeat Jackal.

With The help of Sabertooth, Fairy Tail was able to defeat Tartaros. And with the help of the Dragons, Grandeeny The Sky Dragon, Metalicana The Iron Dragon, The Shadow and Light/Holy Dragons Skiadrum and Wesslogia, and Igneel The Fire Dragon King. They were able to stop Face.

Natsu saw Igneel, his foster father...
die in front his every own eyes...trying to defeat Acnologia... The Apocalypse Dragon...
