She stared back at me with her cold dead eyes. her skin was pale and her silver hair was unbound. Her face was cover in scars and her arms were engulfed in blood. Her black dress was tattered and torn and her face held the expression of despair. 'who she was?' and ' where had she come from?' I did not know and I had no intention of asking. Had it not been for her cry ,"Help me!" I would have turned around and walked away. But, there was something about her which compelled me to listen to what she had to say.

I waited for her to speak as she faced the window, staring beyond the iron bars. Finally, she turned her head towards me and said, "I am Thalia. I am a descendant of an angel, however, I have fallen. I have lost my wings of white along with my ability to return to heaven." I stared at her with a blank face.

"What does that have to do with me?" I thought.

"I need your help," she pleaded, "you are the only one who can help me!"

"Why should I believe you?" I asked. "For all I know, you could be some could be some creep trying to get me to follow you or, you could just be looking for attention"

"Why would I lie? And there's no reason for me to look for attention"

"But how can I be sure of that? How do I know I can trust you? What evidence do you have to show me that you're not lying to me?"

"if I show you you have to promise you won't run," Thalia sighed. "Here goes"

She turned her back to me and lifted her hair just enough to show her bare back. A bright light flashed before my eyes. Before I knew it, a pair of big black wings appeared right in front of me. My jaw dropped. I was in utter disbelief. "Do you believe me now?"she asked. All I could do was stare at her as her ebony colored wings as they sparkled in the pale moon light.

A few moments passed before I could finally breathe. "Say all of this is true, What does any of this have to do with me?"I sighed,"I  mean I'm only a kid for crying out loud!" Without thinking, I turned around and walked towards the big iron door at the back of the room. The door was old and had a very creepy feeling about it. On the door frame, there seemed to be some kind of ancient writing which seemed to look important.

Before reaching out for the golden door knob, I uttered the words,"Listen lady, I don't know what you want with me and I could really care less. But, I wish you the best of luck." As I turned the door knob she spoke. "Alex!" she called. I caught my breath.

"How do you know my name?" I asked her. "As far as I know, I don't recall ever meeting you before this and I have no memory of ever telling you my name."

"I....Uh....I," she stuttered

"Tell me the Truth! "I shouted, " What the hell do you want from me?! "
