Chapter 1

“Ugh, is this class over yet?” I leaned over and whispered to my best friend, Mona. It was the last period before summer vacation, and I could not wait to get out of this school! Mona and I go to Trinity School in New York. It’s a lovely school and I love going there, but right now I had summer on my mind! Summer was my favorite season of all! Tanning, shopping, so much free time to do whatever I wanted...it was perfect!

“No Audrey, we’ve only been in here for ten minutes!” Mona whispered back. I gave a soft groan of disapproval. I totally zoned out, day-dreaming of the warm Florida sand between my toes, and the warm sun tanning my back. Suddenly I became aware of everyone looking at me. Oh no. Did Mr.Andrews ask me a question?

“What?” I asked, not sure what was happening.

“As I suspected,” Mr.Andrews chuckled. “I asked the class what they are doing over break, and it’s your turn”

“Oh, well I think I’m going to Florida,” I said. Mr.Andrews nodded in approval and moved on. I felt my face flush, embarrassed. Oh well. I slouched down in my seat until the bell rang.

Once the bell rang I jumped out of my seat and raced to my locker, grabbing my bag and catching up with my boyfriend, Luke.

“Hey Luke!” I smiled looking up at his beautiful face.

“Hey babe, ready for tonight?”

“Tonight? What’s tonight?”

“Party at my place! Everyone’s invited!”

There was a shout from behind us that made me jump. Luke put his arm around me protectively.

“Everyone, eh Luke? That means us right?”

Oh no.

It was them. The worst kids in our neighborhood. Harry, Liam, Zayn, Louis and Niall. They were never doing anything good, and usually just walked around town terrifying people. You never knew what they were going to do next.

“Hey Harry you stay away from my place tonight. I don’t want you or any of your no good friends showing up and making a scene alright?”

“Oh come on, we like to party too!” The group grew closer to Luke and I. We backed up a bit

“Scared, are we?” Harry smirked in Luke’s face. Luke and Harry had been best friends a long, long time ago. But something happened between them that they have never told anybody. But it must’ve been pretty awful.

“Don’t even think about showing up tonight, go it?” Luke glared at Harry

“We’ll see...I might just have to show up just to see your girl in a bikini!” Harry laughed, and so did the rest of his group. “I bet she looks sexy,” Harry winked at me, and I blushed a deep red. Luke, however got very angry. He threw a punch aimed for Harry’s cheek, but Harry dodged it, smirking. He laughed at Luke. He was just about to throw another punch when Michael and Ashton came running over, seeing what was happening. Michael held Luke back and Ashton protected me.

“Ah Lukey, always needing your friends protection...see you at 8 boys...and girl” Harry winked at me before turning and walking back the way he had come, with his friends all following behind. Luke gave an angry grunt when Michael finally let go of him, still fuming. He ran a hand through his hair and looked over at me.

“Are you alright Audrey?” He asked, coming over to give me a hug.

“I’m fine,” I assured him “Harry was just doing it to make you mad you know,”

“I know, I know,” he replied, then turned to Ashton. “You don’t think that they’ll show up, do you?” he asked.

“I don’t know dude. They are not the type of people to be messing with though,” Ashton said.
