It was four months after the incident had occurred. It was about 1:20 in the morning. It was a Sunday morning as the smell of pancakes and eggs filled his room. Then Owen's cellphone went off.
Caren: where are you
i was sleeping: Owen
Caren: get up then get dressed meet me downstairs
its 1:20 in the morning: Owen
Caren: just hurry up
k: Owen
Owen got up groggily and put on some stained blue jeans and a red unclean t-shirt. He slowly walked down the stairway, making sure not to trip. When he finally reached the bottom of the stairs he was tackled with unbelievable force.
"Got ya!" Caren whispered in Owen's ear.
"What the heck was that for!" cried Owen triggered by the unexpected encounter in his still tried state.
"Always gotta stay on your feet." After this Caren got off Owen. "I made you breakfast. Your favorite pancakes and eggs."
"Why so early though." Owen asked as he slowly walked over to the table.
"Don't you remember todays the day. The crystal light can be seen early in the morning. " Caren said as she skipped over playfully to the table, where Owen was already sitting down helping himself to some pancakes.
"What's this crystal light thing again?" Owen asked between bites of pancakes.
As he asked a bright light filled the room. The light seemed as though it was coming from some sort of ball dancing around the room. The light shone in a way that illuminated the room in a disco ball way.
"That's the crystal light." she exclaimed with excitement. "Oh my gosh it chose us."
"It chose what now?" Owen asked with a confused look. "And what do you mean by us?"
"Well every four years the crystal light choses two people to go to the Mount Everest. Upon arriving they will be given 10 tasks they have to solve for the crystal. If you fail then you die if you succeed then you will be greatly rewarded."
"Wait a second you do know Mount Everest is like one hard mountain to climb. Also I'm to young to die."
"Don't worry you could just use your morphing ability to our advantage. Besides I know what the tasks are. I've been preparing for this my entire life."
"Welp lets go then." Owen finished his pancakes and eggs. While he was finishing his food Caren bought two tickets for Napal and they were on their way. It was a direct flight from L.A.X to the Tribhuvan International Airport. It was a 45 minute drive to L.A.X.
As they got off the taxi Caren paid the driver.
"I have butterflies in my stomach." exclaimed Caren as Owen and her walked towards their terminal.
"Hey lets get some snacks." Owen replied to Caren as he looked up from his cellphone. He was looking up ways on how to get to Mount Everest. He research had concluded that there were sherpas that helped you up to a certain point.
"Hey that our airline lets go." As they reached the checkpoint they waited in line for their bags to be checked.
