She walked off the bus steps. Feet hitting hard against the pavement. Students laughed as they found each other, laughing about their deep talk the night before. She walked by herself, tightening the straps on her backpack as she did. A sudden tap shook her from her daze. "You look like death". The new girl said. She sighed. "Meghan, are you sure you're ok?" She asked. "I'm fine, I...I just didn't get much sleep last night." Sighing the girl continued walking. "See you later Alli." The girl just nodded, looking sad as she did. She walked into school with the same bored-look on her face. Students bumped into her and she veered to her class. She set her stuff down and layed down her head. She managed to shut her eyes for a split second before the teacher noticed.
"Meghan." She jolted awake. "Please put your head up, thank you." "Sorry". She sat up adjusting herself to focus on the board in front of her. The teacher looked at her before continuing his class. Papers were passed back and homework was assigned. Meghan left the class just like everyday, but, slightly weary of where she was going next. She ran into the same girl she talked to as she walked into school.
"Hey Alli." She said.
"How are you feeling now?" Alli asked with a happy look on her face now.
"Girl's get to class please." A nearby teacher said. They nodded back before turning into their classroom.
"I'm just tired, didn't get much sleep last night." Meghan finally replied to her. Alli took her seat, Meghan right next to her.
"Alright class, how are we doing today?" The teacher asked.
The class groaned. Meghan glanced out the window, rain drops starting to fall and hit the window. This is going to be a long day. Meghan thought.
