Hot summer days and cool nights were all you knew. Riding bikes down the street, playing pranks, and going on adventures. You did a lot as a child, you were a free spirit. Despite all the adventures you had you always remembered one person.

It was impossible to forget about him, how could you forget your best friend? The both of you were inseparable; You two were always climbing trees, playing pretend, there wasn't anything the two of you didn't do.

'Come on let's just do it! Adults do it all the time so why not us? Oliver told me that his mom said that adults do this when they really care about each other. I care about you! You're my best friend (Y/n)!'

'Okay let's do it! It'll be like our promise to always stay together!'

'Yeah that sounds great! Good idea (Y/n)! Close your eyes okay?'

You woke up from the fond memory with tears threatening to flow down your face. The dream, more like a memory, has been reoccurring more lately. It's been ten years since then yet you would never forget him. What kind of person forgets their first love?

Your first love was sweet and innocent as all first loves are. You didn't realize it was love till four years later when you were ten. Still at that time you only thought of it as a crush. If you were honest you did miss him. He was always there for you until you had to leave him alone in that small town.

A month after you shared your first kiss with the dark haired boy your family had to move to Texas. When you figured out you had to leave your small town in California you at first didn't understand. When your parent first told you the news you replied with, 'When are we coming back?' Only to be crushed when you realized there was a slim chance of returning.

It was a few days before the big move. You were in your treehouse your father built for the both of you. It was what you two called your secret base.

'I don't want to leave but my mommy says we have to. I can't leave I'll miss the Emperor too much."

He held you in his arms wiping the tears away from your face. 'Don't worry (Y/n) I'll never forget you I'll think about you every day! I know, how about we make a promise?'

You lifted your face from his tear covered shirt. 'What kind of promise?'

'I promise that when we're older I'll marry you okay? So we don't have to leave each other again.'

'Okay let's do it!'

He probably didn't even remember the girl he made the promise to marry. Who knows, maybe he found some other girl to love while you were gone. If this was true then you wouldn't blame him. Who would want to wait ten years for someone without even knowing if they will come back?

You checked the clock to see how early it was. The digital clock read '4:30am Sat.' It was still early so you laid back down on your white sheets. The warmth that emitted from the cotton lulled you back into a peaceful sleep.

You were awaken three hours later by the sound of music coming from outside of your room. You walked out of your room and saw your mom cleaning. "What's the special occasion? Are we having a party soon?"

Your mom turned around in shock. "Wow you're up early! No we aren't having a party but the house needs to be clean. Someone is coming over to look at their new house later."
