Big ego beauty

One day I met a dove
It said it would take me above
Over people and conventions
Through its said pure intentions shone only pretention
Through duvet white
I spoke up
After peaceful flight, even you have to land someday
This world offers sanctuary
Its people beauty
Despite what you have to say
However, I don't mind playing along
I'll pretend to leave behind this place we don't belong
Let's go up
It barely managed to grab
Claw, scratch, lift
It had for carrying no gift
This challenge would but make it sad
Yet it seemed to grow
Dangerously, charmingly
Brought me near to see
Its coal wings like a crow's
The great avian lifted my chin
I must have been blind
I missed out on its real kind
Its beauty black as sin
Too close, too high
I would also burn to char
At its profit, fuel its voyage until not so far
