With my television on in my small New York city loft, the words breaking news flash across my screen in a fast pase manor. As the scene comes to life in front of me, I realize that this was going to be an event for the history books. Misteria and Thunder (also known as my beloved parents *note sarcasm*) are flying all over the screen. A high speed chase is happening downtown and the cops are just too slow to catch up with The Mane. Now I know what you're thinking, the Mane? Who's that? Well for all of you who have been living the sheltered white kid life, the Mane is a villian who terrorizes the city of New York. I decide to change the channel, I mean it's not my fight right? Anywho the overwhelming urge of hungry is getting to me. As I find my way to the kitchen, opening the fridge seems to be a second nature to me at this point. Shifting through all the old Chinese food boxes in my fridge I come across A can of Mt.Dew, I sigh in relief knowing that i don't have to go to the small drug store down the road for my favorite beverage. Walking back into what I call my "living room," given that my apartment is a loft, there are really no walls to define territories of labeled rooms. Sitting down with my newly acquired soda, I realize the remote was gone. I sigh in defeat after looking for it, for what seems like forever. *Knock, knock, knock* I hear at the door. I groan and get up, walking over to the door. Swinging open before I get there stands my "beloved" mother. "Come with me" she says starting to drag me by my arm. Once out of the building she takes off flying. "What the FUCKK!?!" I scream hanging 100 feet in the air. I slowly feel my own body equal in height with my mother. Looking over, I don't feel her hand anymore. WOAHHHH!!!! IM FLYING, IM FUCKING FLYING! You see I have never had powers and that's why my parents treated me with disappointment. But now, now I can fly. "Land over there" points my mother. We land on a helicopter pad, on top of a large building. My mother turned to me, a strange smile on her face. "What?" I say cringing at her expression. "Welcome to the team! We can be a family again." She says pulling me into a hug I struggled to get out of. "Who says I want to be family with you? You left me on my 13th birthday because I didn't have powers. You don't love me, so don't pretend to." I say flying off.
