Lila trudged alongside Ellen, hearing her gushing about a dress she saw in a shop across from their road a couple of days ago. Lila nodded her head occasionally, but didn't bother showing her she was interested. She was busy putting together a scenario in her head that could get her off Ellen's company.

For the day, she didn't want to be wandering with a spastic shopaholic. She just wanted to get on cleaning her new apartment and cleaning. The place really was a mess to her defense, but Ellen wouldn't listen, and though she knew her neighbor only wanted her to feel genuinely welcomed, she couldn't bring herself to care. She had a lot on her mind already and befriending was definitely never along the list.

"We're here!" Ellen chimed, holding on to the knob of a classic looking men and women shop.

Ellen cried out 'hello' to the petite, middle aged shop keeper and gripped Lila's hand, squealing, "Let's just hope it's not sold out," in an exhale. She pushed them deeper into the shop and stopped to rummage vigrously through a rack where she thought the dress should be. Lila sauntered and rolled her eyes anyway despite her effort to contain her despair. She had a lot of cleaning to be done and absolutely no time to waste in a shopping frenzy.

"What do you think?" Ellen adjusted a polka dotted dress before herself. The itching grin on her face assured Lila that this was it. The amazing-mind blowing-irresistible-so-ravishing dress.         Ellen was gushing about all the way to the shop and after the formal introduction they shared at Lila's doorstep.

Though the glint in Ellen's eyes told Lila it really didn't matter what her opinion was, she'd mustered a tight smile and said, "Just like you've mentioned."

It was just a dress that Ellen had promised to take before showing Lila around the area. This was the only where for shopping and necessary supplies. Lila had planned on quickly grabbing cleaning supplies on their way to convince herself this trip wasn't absolutely a waste, but  Ellen never seemed to finish. Lila's guess was right and this women really was a tragic shopaholic. She'd wanted to take her chances with a teenager to share her passion with, pity for her, Lila was definitely the wrong person. She nodded her head for about three picks, but never bothered to acknowledge her after. She used to be a people person, but that girl was long gone now. Sometimes the smallest periods of affliction that burden your past tend to severe you completely from the path you could have walked through now.

Later, Ellen was finally tugging at the 6th bag and grinning, "We're done here! Did you like the things I bought?" she waltzed to the door, reaching for Lila's hand, forcing her to tag along her jog.

Lila didn't reply, but muttered to herself instead, "Talk about flippancy."

Ellen continued to show her around the small shops, but didn't waltz into any, thankfully. There weren't much to see too. Barely the necessaries were available. There was a city nearby anyway. They passed a mechanic shop, a small town coffee and cake shop and right before the store, Lila found herself halting before a bizarre looking booth. Her guess was somewhere along a Japanese decoration shop. The glass tinted a dark shade, Lila could barely make out what was inside.

The aroma of dried herbs, Lavender and other species foreign to her nose wafted just as Ellen said, " They say they've got the best herbs. It's a little hedge though. I've only been here once, I'm not a tea and herbs person. I just like my coffee from Wal-Mart. We can go in if you want." She pushed the door to slide in before Lila could muster an objection.

Lila muttered intelligible words to herself, scorning over the fact that she was caught up staring at this. Her lips severed to snap about how she needed to go home and get cleaning, but the spastic women was way ahead. She groaned instead and held the glass door open to saunter inside.

A.N: Updates maybe very short, but hopefully regular. I really shouldn't be doing this anymore, but I can't help it for now. Maybe one day I'll get over myself and delete them. Anyway, show your support if you liked it.
