With one swift motion I was off and running down the track. The others were slightly ahead of me or wasting their energy in the beginning.
With 5 kilometers total and only half of one in, people started slowing down while I kept a steady pace. I began to count down the miles. I was in second so far, the city champ in front of me, he was tall and had a dark tan. His hair was long and black. He moved fast but steadily and before I knew the I could see the finish line.
I spent so long just keeping pace and starring at him I forgot to count and lost track of time!! I sped ahead as we came closer and I over took him at the least second.
The crowd roared and when I turned to he looked shocked.
"Hi, I'm Tomas Mantin. I'm a recruiter for the track school in New York." My jaw dropped as he said those words that poured oh so perfectly from his mouth.
"Wow! You must love your job!"
"I do, and I'd like to ask two of you. First, I'd like to offer you a full scholarship to the school and secondly, your number?" OMG HES ASKING FOR MY NUMBER!!!
"And both I will gladly do." After listing my number I head home knowing I was going to college and on a date with a guy on Friday.
