The Story of Amber Stones

Chapter 5: The Text Message

I wake up the next morning, get dressed and it was like time froze. I see my cuts I think, why? It's the only thing that doesn't keep me from going out of control. Like when I cut it's kind of like letting all my pain out, I don't know.  Then time went back in place and i hear

"Amber hurry up you're going to be late!" "ok mom i'll be ready in a sec." 

Once I'm done getting ready and I walk to school I don't see Elizabeth in the corner. I text her and she doesn't reply until like 5 minutes later I get a text,

"Amber i'm not going to school today." I reply "Why? are you sick?" then I realize oh shit maybe she's not going to school because of what I told her yesterday. She replies, "no I just don't feel good." then I say, "Is it because of what i told you yesterday and she said, "...yeah, I have to talk to you meet me after school at my house, Ok." and I say, "Elizabeth im OK, im sorry if I hurt you but i'm ok." I see that she read the message but she doesn't reply. (oh yeah I forgot I got Augustus's phone number yesterday after school) My phone vibrated but as I was going to look I hear

"Hey Amber!" 

Me: I turn around and it's Augustus. I smile and say, "Hi"  

Augustus: "Hey" "Where's Elizabeth?"

Me: "She's not feeling well." looking at my phone to see if Elizabeth texted me but it was Augustus saying "wait for me, I see you."

Augustus: "oh, so I guess it's just me and you today. Hey? did you get invited to Scarlets party this saturday?"

Me: I was thinking about Elizabeth so I wasn't really paying attention, and I didn't hear him, so  I didn't respond 

He holds my hand and then says,"are you ok"

Me: "..yeah"

Augustus: "are you sure? you can trust me, .. ok."

Me:"....it's Elizabeth i'm worried about her, but i don't feel like talking about it right now." I didn't realize it but we were already close to class

Augustus: "oh, ok" 

then he looks at me and I see him looking at me so I turn and we lock eyes and smile. Then all of a sudden we kiss. It was just a short little kiss but it made me feel better. At least I have something to tell Elizabeth that will make her happy. At least I know someone else loves me. After we were just quiet and were holding hands. Once we got to class we went our ways. 

I didn't know what the teacher said the whole period all I was thinking about was Augustus and Elizabeth. 

The rest of the day was nice, Augustus walked me to every class and hugged me here and there. All of my friends especially Scarlet kept talking to me about him. Oh Yeah! So when me and Augustus were walking to 5th period I see Ruben going up the stairs so of course I want him to know I'm going out with Augustus so we hold hands and yeah XD. That was pretty much it at school today.
