"Now, class, it is important for us to recap the key points from last weeks discussion in order to move on to the next concept. As the first verse in Genesis states, in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth—"

A snort came from the back of the classroom, and all turned around to face the indignant interrupter. "Yeah, but what your holy book doesn't say is that Lucifer made hell, and that's pretty damn important stuff, I'll have you know."

"Taehyung, how many times must we tell you this is Bible study class, not a mythology lesson?" The professor's patience was running short. "One more word out of your mouth and—"

"Go fuck yourself, all of you!" The youth cried, his anger blazing as he shunted back his chair and stormed out of the room, leaving all to stare at him in amazement.

Taehyung's so-called 'attitude problems' started a little after the winter break. He had gone to visit his family, and returned to school a completely changed student. Previously he had paid attention, for the most part, was respectful of his elders, most of them, and completed his homework, usually. Now, however, it would be a teacher's lucky day if he didn't have an outburst in class, or handed in half finished homework. His eyes constantly had a kind of mischief mixed with perpetual resentment. To sum it all up, as the Word of God says, "every imagination of the thoughts of his heart doth were only evil all the day."

It was only two weeks into the term and Taehyung's behavioral issues seemed to settle down, though he seemed to be battling negative thoughts on a regular basis. In one week, he was sent to the principal six times, once every school day, for misdemeanor during class time and foul language while inside the chapel. Of course, Taehyung barely took note of the "three strikes, you're out" warning and carried on his merry way. However, things did start improving.

It was mid-February when Taehyung became the centre of attention yet again. By this time, he had settled in completely, no longer making frequent stops at the dean's office. Yet, the change now seemed so drastic. He barely said anything in class, completed his homework, yes, but it was often riddled with mistakes, and was respectful at church, yes, but he looked half dead. Teachers and students alike whispered among themselves whenever he passed, his head bent, eyes downcast, skin pale almost hinting blue.

When school resumed in the autumn months something felt odd about the campus. Third year student Kim Namjoon had heard the rumors about the legendary Kim Taehyung, the "transformation" student. As it was a Catholic school, some teachers were more superstitious than others, professing that he had been claimed by a demon, was the reincarnation of Judas Iscariot, or was communicating with St. Lazarus, among other outlandish theories.

These did not bother Namjoon, per se, but it did give him a sense of uneasiness nonetheless. The first few weeks of school were fine, and slowly he let his guard down. He no longer feared the tale of the transformation student. Life was good.

It was a Friday in October that changed Namjoon's life, seemingly for ever. It was five o'clock. He approached the campus church, entered and knelt on the floor, facing the beautiful organ that lay at the very end of the church. The stained glass cast soft lights of red, green and blue on the marble tiles. Namjoon took a deep breath and began to recite his prayer. He had be working on it for weeks now and almost had it down to perfection.
