It was a normal day for me so far. As I was walking I spotted a fair. Not a county fair or a school fair but, a grand fair, almost the size of a city. It was mostly empty. Only a few people were there (excluding the workers) and there were so many attractions. You could literally walk up to any attraction you please and get right on. Hours go by and still the fair is empty. Wasn't there anything promoting this grand place of wonder and amazment. I walked alone most of the day. As I looked at my pocketwatch to check the time, (It's nearly nine o'clock in the evening) a bell rings. Some carnie or ring master is shouting that some show or parade is starting.
I started walking toward the tent where the ring master was. As I walked in spotlights were everywhere. The strange thing was instead of the small amount of people in the bleachers, large crowds of people were overflowing the tent. The ring master was standing in the middle of the tent. He quites the crowd and says," Welcome to the Traveling Fair! We're only here for one day for one year. After today we're gone forever! Now let me introduce you to the Stars of the Sky!" As soon as he said that, twenty acrobats soared through the sky wearing glowing suits covered in star-shaped sequins.
"And let's not forget about the Great Animal Tamer!" shouted the ring master. Out walked a man riding an elephant and behind was a giraffe, a lion, a seal, and a large group of mice. The Great Animal Tamer stepped up to the middle of the ring and said," Mice, stand and jump onto another." As he said that the mice did as he commanded. Then he exclaimed," Giraffe, balance." The giraffe stepped up and stood on his front legs. The Tamer then commanded,"Seal, play a melody." The seal obeyed and assistants gave the seal horns, drums, and pan flutes to play. "Last but not least," the Tamer shouted, "Elephant, stand!" The elephant stood up on his hind legs and walked around the tent.
The rest of the night was given to the clowns and the jesters. I checked my watch again and it was ten minutes till midnight. The ring master stood up and annouced,"Thank you for your time here. We hope you had the greatest day of your life in our grand Traveling Fair." It is now five minutes till midnight which it means it's almost closing time. So goodbye!" With that everyone left in four minutes. As soon as I walked out, it turned midnight and everything disappeared. Not a single person or attraction was left. Just me in the middle of a field. Then a quiet whisper came out of nowhere. The ring master's voice slowly said,"Never forget this night."
