You're Drawing Me

Another Friday afternoon, meaning the time has come for me to go to my least favourite class ever. Art.

I just don't get how people can turn graphite and paper into something amazing to marvel at. And everyone was so much better than me...
Though there is a plus side. It has nothing to do with the chilled atmosphere of the class or the lack of assignments we get asked to produce. It all has to do with a girl. She's not just a girl, you just have to look at her to know she's not just average. She radiates beauty and warmth, how can I not be attracted to her glowing green eyes and curvy figure.
Lauren Jauregui's in my art class and she's the only thing that gets me through this hour long lesson.

I make my way to the back of the classroom, sitting near an easel so I can have the perfect view of the entrance. I have my eye out for the brunette. I always like to have a direct view of her. Watching her work is mesmerising. Her green eyes hold so much concentration when she's painting, and to top it off, her tongue peaks out from her lips. I die from cuteness overload each time.

I begin to draw in my sketchbook in the meantime, I'm drawing a person flower with a fairy wand and she's in Neverland - it looks like shit, but I'm bored.

The door creaked open and my eyes immediately shoot up to see my favourite face walk through the door.
Lauren walked in with her best friend, Normani Kordei.
They were laughing about something and I couldn't help but smile at Lauren's toothy grin. Someone who doesn't know her might find her intimidating with her cold eyes and rocker chick look, but as soon as she shows that infectious smile of hers, you can't help but find her adorable.

She feels eyes on her because as she starts heading towards her seat a couple rows in front of me, she looks up and finds me staring and smiling.
Shit, I've been caught.

I nervously and erratically make myself look busy and act as if I wasn't staring at her as soon as she stepped into the classroom.
After a few seconds of mindlessly drawing in my sketchbook, I discreetly glance over at Lauren and she's looking down, organising her art supplies for the day with her bottom lip between her teeth and an amused look on her face.

I now feel eyes on me and find Lauren's best friend giving me a questioning look, which immediately turns into a smirk. I open my mouth, trying to think of a response for my blatant staring, but I decide it's best to just act as if nothings happened and look back down again. Now they both must think I'm creepy... nice one Camila.

My art teacher enters the classroom and begins the lesson.
"Okay class, today we'll just be doing some independent work in our sketchbooks or on our easels. But I have a new assignment to give you before you begin."

Ugh, this class was meant to be easy. I hope it doesn't take up too much time.

"This task only applies to half of you, then next week, the other half will partake in the assignment.
You'll all partner up and produce an a2 drawing of each other in charcoal."

No! I have to draw someone?! Is he serious. And who am I drawing? I hardly know anyone in this class...

"So everyone, choose you're partners during the lesson. I expect a complete drawing by one of you in the pair on Monday."

I huff with annoyance with the task my art teachers set for us. Some of us actually have things to do this weekend.
I look over at Lauren again, because it seems to be the only thing I do in this class, and find her talking with Normani. The conversations loud enough for me to listen in on.

"So who are you drawing?"

"What? You're not partnering up with me?" Lauren said with a puzzled look on her face.
