Chapter 1- A Long Drive

"Delilah!" I hear my best friend Lucas knocking on my door.

"Come in!" I shout hopping on one foot whilst pulling up my sock.

"I swear you are the slowest person ever when it comes to getting ready.I called you like an hour ago!" He huffs looking at me upside down as his head dangles off the side of my bed.

"I'm sorry, I was really tired and slept in."

"You're always 'tired and slept in.'" He complains.

"Whatever lets go." I say linking my arm with his as he jumps off my bed.

I pull out my key as we leave my cluttered and untidy dorm room, I can't wait for classes to end next week so I can go visit my parents.

"Are you as pumped for school to end as me?" Lucas asks giddily as if he read my thoughts.

"uh yes!" I sqeak jumping slightly.

"We're gonna have so much fun this summer!" He shouts.

"I know, I can't wait to go to Paris with you."

"Are you sure you don't want Matthew to come along because Paris is the city of love and I really wouldn't mind."

"No! Absolutly not! Theres nobody I would rather go to Paris with than you." I smile making him laugh loudly as we entered the small coffee shop he had called me at nine in the morning to go to.

"So have you been talking to Matt lately?" Lucas asked as I made my way towards the que.

"Get us a table okay?" I said ignoring his question with a sigh.

After taking our orders and retreiving them from the counter I search for Lucas, spotting him sat at a table for two a few feet away.

"So Matthew?" Of course Lucas can never just let something go.

"No I haven't been talking to Matthew." I sigh sipping my latte careful not to burn myself.

"Aweh baby I'm sure he'll call you soon." I smile looking up from my drink.

"You're probably right."

"I'm always right darling." He smiles brightly. "So how have you done so far on your end of the year exams? I feel like we haven't hung out in like years!"

"Well I have been cramming for like weeks but I haven't seen any of my scores yet, I feel good about them though."

"Well that's a good sign."

"Yeah, I don't think I've ever been so stressed in my life though."

"Well only a few more days and all that stress will be lifted, We'll be visiting our familys and before you know it we will be cozied up in our flat watching movies and having beach days."

"I feel relieved already." I smile standing from my seat gripping my cup and pulling Lucas from his seat linking arms with him before exiting the coffee shop.

A frustrated sigh escapes my lips as an unknown face bumps in to me forcefully causing me to drop all of the textbooks I had been holding.

"Sorry." The person mumbles before continuing down the hall towards the main exit. I don't blame them it is the last day of school heck I probably would have done the same on a hectic day like this.

I breath in the fresh air as I escape my dusty college for the last time this semester.

"Delilah!" I hear my other bestfriend Connor's voice shout.

"Connor!" I shout back a huge grin planted on my face as I jump in to his arms.

"I thought you would be in London visiting your family right now!" I shouted my voice muffled by his t-shirt. Many people had mistaken us for a couple on several occasions but he is more like a brother to me.

"I had to see you one more time before you went off to Doncastor." He smiled setting me down.

"You'll still come and visit though right." I stick out my lower lip as Lucas approaches us, He said he would come pick me up because we plan to drive to our new flat tonight to check it out and set up before going to visit our familys for two weeks.

"Of course! I'll be there late July and I can stay for 2 weeks." He smiles brightly.

"Hi Connor." Lucas greets Connor with a wave.

"Hey Lucas."

"Not to be annoying or anything but we have to go if we want to get to the flat before dark."

"Okay." I sigh hugging Connor tightly again.

"I'll see you soon." He states giving me a quick kiss on my forehead before Lucas grabbed my hand and began dragging me towards the car.

"Love you!" I shouted playfully.

"mwah!" He shouted back dramatically sending me a kiss in the air, I giggled hopping in the car and turning the radio up full blast.

This was going to be a long drive.

A/N

Okay so this is my new fanfiction Pinky Promise and incase anyone was wondering Lucas is Gay... I didnt want to just like randomly say it in the middle of the chapter XD and if you don't like gay people well I don't want to hear it because your wrong. Louis will come in to the story soon! I haven't posted a cast list yet but I picture Lucas as Chris Colfer, Delilah as Chrissy Costanza and Connor as Blake Jenner :)
