Cloaked in darkness, a woman sighed. It may not have been fully dark around her, but from where she was standing she sure as hell didn't see any light. The demons in her head screamed. They did this a lot, but most of the time she ignored them.
Listening to music helped, it used to at least. Now, whenever they screamed she just wanted to curl up in a ball and forget everything. It'd been a long while since she'd thought about something with her heart. Her mind was in control at the moment, she'd locked her heart up a while ago. If she hadn't it would have killed her. It was already starting to fall apart. The blackness that whispered into her ear had almost gotten to it, so she locked it up.
Her soul was stuck in the middle, wanting to believe what she'd been raised to, to go ahead and live in the fear she'd grown up in, and wanting to believe what she wanted to believe. Along with her heart, most of her true personality was locked away, not planning to come back or even visit for a long while. Instead of the side that was kind to everyone, the more childish side, she was now a shell that she created. She acted like a bitch, if she didn't trust you fully you'd know that side of her. Almost no one was the wiser.

She sat as still as the shadows around her. The darkness surrounding her whispered to her once again. They made her angry easily, and she was afraid that if she lashed out she'd hurt someone. Her thoughts were awful. She was always thinking about hurting someone, to see what it was like to see the life and blood drain from someone. And so to keep herself from doing that, she'd drag a blade across her skin. She sighed once again, but heard nothing. The blackness stole every breath that came from her, any fight she'd had left was gone. She was close to giving up.

She'd thought about it a lot. Just ending it. She was close to doing so once or twice. She would feel herself go numb, she felt like a puppet whom wasn't being controlled, and all that was on her mind was that it would never get better. That she should just get it over with. Of course she never did it. She would make everyone hate her first. Then everyone would be happy when she was gone, Good Riddance they'd say. She smiled weakly at the thought. It wouldn't be too hard. The darkness in her ear got louder. Then she heard it.
"Eris? Is that you?"
The darkness shut up quickly, like it was never there. The woman was confused. The voice was so quiet, how did she hear it over the yelling in her head and the talking in her ear? Then she heard it as though it was right in front of her.
"There you are!"
A woman stood in front of Eris, a smile on her face. As soon as she smiled the room turned white, and Eris' demons shut up as they watched the woman with curiosity. Eris looked around, but her surprise didn't last long as she looked back at the figure in front of her. She knew that voice. Her guard, the chains around her heart, dropped. She trusted the woman in front of her enough to drop her guard. Eris gave the woman a genuine smile.
"It's nice to see you again, Shu"
