That's where I wake up every time for the past month. Ever since the incident. I lay there in the dark looking up at the stars. We had traveled 20 miles yesterday trying to find a town. Where we had lived it was in the middle of nowhere, making the closest town called Sparta a 3 1/2 day trip.
I kept letting my mind wander on different topics, random topics. Like how Nia doesn't deserve this since she's only 5. She has to grow up so fast and it's especially hard for a Kindergartner. Why did dad do this?
"I really need some sleep." Stephanie whispered to herself. "I've got a long journey ahead."
