Hoshi on Stage

Chapter 1

Soonyoung turned a corner in the building and found himself facing a wall. He hated to admit it but he was lost. It was his first time in the KBS building and he was supposed to be one of the backup dancers for Orange Caramel's performance. Just half an hour ago, he was in the waiting room, together with the other Pledis trainees and Orange Caramel. He was just sitting around chatting with Mingyu when he heard Raina telling Lizzy that she was feeling thirsty. He knew they still had some time before going to the hall, so he snuck out of the waiting room in search of a vending machine. How did he know that the building was so complicated? Anyway, now he was lost and he had about 30 minutes before rehearsal starts. 

Soonyoung reached into the pockets of his black denim jacket, but they were empty, save for a few coins. He couldn't help but sigh. He didn't have his mobile phone with him and he was sure he was going to get punished for leaving the waiting room without permission. Part of him wondered if it really mattered anyway. He had trained with Pledis for years but it seemed like everyday was the same and he was just running around in circles. Debut seemed like a faraway dream and maybe he should just return to his family farm and take care of the chickens. He didn't even have time to see his family often and he missed his mother alot. Who was he dancing for? 

He found himself next to a dressing room. Maybe he should ask someone to lend him their mobile phone. He peeked inside and the dressing room was empty except for someone sleeping on the couch. His back was facing Soonyoung and he couldn't see who it was. 

"Excuse me..." said Soonyoung. He shyly reached out and tapped the sleeping figure's shoulder. The boy turned in his sleep. Soonyoung gasped when he saw his face. It was SHINee's Taemin. Soonyoung's heart skipped a beat. 

SHINee's Taemin. Soonyoung couldn't believe Taemin was right before his very eyes. He quickly bowed and said, "Good morning sunbae-nim I am Kwon Soonyoung a trainee from Pledis Entertainment it is an honour meeting you, I was deeply moved when I saw you perform on stage in 2008 and you inspired me to become an artiste also I hope to be a good performer like you!"

Taemin scrunched up his face and stretched himself. He opened his eyes and looked at Soonyoung blearily. Soonyoung jaws fell open. He was even more beautiful in person. Taemin closed his eyes again and went back to sleep. Soonyoung took a step towards the sleeping figure and stared at his face. It is really possible that he is even human? Taemin let out a shiver. It was rather cold in the room. Soonyoung took out his denim jacket and placed it gently over Taemin. 

"Kwon Soonyoung!" someone from behind hissed angrily. Soonyoung turned behind to see Orange Caramel's manager. The manager quickly stepped inside the dressing room and grabbed Soonyoung's hand, dragging him out. 

"You are so dead! What are you doing wandering around the building like this! Are you treating this as some sort of a joke!" cried the manager who was now pulling Soonyoung by the ear. 

Soonyoung didn't even have the chance to say goodbye, but he knew that he wanted to see him again. Debuting was the only option.
