"keep talking that loud and we'll get caught."
i rolled my eyes as the two boys jumped over the fence, dusting themselves off as they looked up to me with expecting expressions.
"you coming or not?"
"come on dude, it'll be so fun!"
i sighed, contemplating on going back home to my warm, cozy, safe, home. it was 1 am and we'd somehow managed to walk all the way to the edge of the village without getting caught.
if i went back now maybe no one would notice i was gone, "mitch? you coming?"
i glanced at my friends through the cold mist, mumbling a fuck it under my breathe as i climbed over the fence. chris and mason cheered quietly, patting my back in triumph as we walked into the darkened woods.
something in me knew this was a bad idea, another part of me thought everything would be fine.
but as i walked down the narrow path, i thought to myself, what could go wrong?
if only i knew.
