This is the story of Cedric, a boy with a huge apetite who finally bit off more than he could chew!
Cedric Carbuncle was Grandfather's uncle
Or cousin, or something like that.
When he wa a boy, his Ma's pride and joy
He started becoming quite fat.
"Just look at him eat, " she'd say "Isn't he sweet,
My boy has a grand apetite!"
She felt no alarm, didn't see any harm
As she let out his pants every night.
When that boy started grazing it was truly amazing
A wondrous sight to behold!
He would start out with soup (enough for a group)
Then he'd have at the meat and the veg.
When that was all gone
Cedric carried on
Eating up a whole pie wedge by wedge.
You just could not fill him , you'd think it would kill him
To eat like he did without stop.
As he grew ever bigger, people would snigger
And think "Someday that boy's going to pop!"
The morning that Cedric Carbuncle turned seven
He woke to discover a greedy boy's heaven.
The table was covered with marvelous treats
And all of the children that lived on his street
Were waiting and calling "Happy birthday! Surprise!
The girl's wore their best dresses
the boys wore their ties,
But a strange look came into Cedric's greedy eyes.
He had cake in his mouth and a piece in each hand!
He grabbed all the presents
And barked out a command
" Stand back! Get away!"
He started to shake
" This is my special day! This is my birthday cake!"
He pushe and he shoved, he was horribly rude.
He sat down and began to eat ALL of the food!
The children stood staring amazed and aghast
As he ate every morsel right down to the last.
He snorted and slurped as he gulped down each jawful
He farted and burped
It was truly, disgustingly horribly awful!
When he'd gulped his last gulp and burped his last burp
He smiled and he asked " Now what's for dessert?"
He started to rise form the table
And then
Witha look of surprise, he sat down again
cedric's large belly had started to grumble
It was shaking like jelly
It started to rumble.
It moved and it wiggled, it grew and expanded,
And what happened next
Noone quite understands it.
There was a loud boom, like a bomb had exploded
And down into the room small bits of stuff floated.
Then everyone knew it had happened ..... the worst.
Cedric Carbuncle had finally burst!
Too late Cedric learned what the others all knew,
You cannot have your cake
And eat EVERYONE'S too!
