A second mega parent-teacher meeting (PTM) is to be conducted by the Government of Delhi in the government-run schools on October 15, 2016. "Delhi government schools to hold mega Parent-Teacher Meet part two," asserted the government on its official Twitter handle.

The first parent-teacher meeting was held on July 30 and it was decided by the government that the meeting would be held twice a year. In the first PTM, parents of 16 lakh students were invited to attend the meeting. The parents were not provided the report cards of students in the last meeting. However, the government has decided to give the report cards of the students to their parents this time. They have been informed about the PTM through SMS and social media. The report card will cover all the aspects of the student's result.

Creative Academy, one of the top ranked institutes in Pune stated that it is a great move by the government which will prove to be beneficial for the education sector. Providing a regular feedback to the parents is imperative to improve the overall academic performance of the students.

Manish Sisodia, the Education Minister of Delhi, who also holds the education portfolio, stated that a separate budget has been sanctioned by the government to conduct PTMs in more than 1000 schools run by it. The major purpose of conducting PTMs is to have a direct communication between parents and teachers. The government is ensuring one-to-one help to the students till November 14.

"One-on-one help for the students to ensure 'Every Child Can Read' till 14th November," the government announced on twitter.

Parents have an important part to play in the academic success of their child. The academic progress of students will always be better with their active involvement. This step undertaken by the government will certainly improve the quality of education in schools.
