'I feel the sun on my face.
I see trees all around me, scent of wildflowers on a breeze. It's so beautiful.
In this moment, I'm not stranded in space.
It's been 97 years since a nuclear apocalypse killed everyone on Earth, leaving the planet simmering in radiation.
Fortunately, there were survivors at the time of the bombs. There is now only The Ark, one station forged from the many.
We're told the Earth needs another 100 years to become survivable again.
and man can go home, back to the ground.
The ground, that's the dream.......'

The door buzzes startling her from her thoughts making her jump and look at the new visitor.

"Prisoner 319, against the wall." The guard with a steel box commands.

This is reality, reality sucks.

"Hands above your head" the second guard commands. She does so.

"What is this." She asks with a straight voice.

The guard grabs her hand and twists her around.

"Take off the watch!" He commands and she pulls her arm from his grasp.

"No it was my dads." She defies with a strained voice. He grabs her arm once more.

"Now!" He commands gripping her arm tightly.

She jerks away with a 'no' and kicks between his legs. He buckles and falls to his knees.

The second guard yells 'hey' while slinging out his shocklash while he approaches her. Pulling the lash out of his grasp she shocks him and takes a run for the door locking it behind her.

The is lock up, or as we call it the sky box.

"Hey!" Another guard yells making her run the opposite way. But before she gets to far she's stopped by a voice.

"Clarke stop!" Her mothers voice says making her stop and turn to face her briskly.

Her mother wraps Clarke in her arms.

"Mom." Clarke cries trembling. Her eyes glance from behind her mom and see other prisoners being taken.

"Mom- mom what's going on- there killing us all aren't they reducing population to save time for the rest of you." Clarke says with sobs escaping her. Her mother pulls away and puts Clarke's face in her palms.

"No- no Clarke your being sent to the ground." Her mother tells her in a soothing voice.

"What- no- no we get reviewed at 18." Clarke argues trying to hold back sobs.

"Laws change." Her mother says wiping her daughters tears.

Clarke was ready to argue but her mother stops her.

"Your instincts will tell you to take care of everybody else first, just like your father, but be careful I can't lose you too." Her mother says. "I love you so much." She continues and wipes her cheeks. Seconds later a guard shoots a tranquilizer dart into Clarke's back making her knees buckle and her mom pull her into her lap as they lower to the floor. Clarke slowly becomes unconscious. "Earth Clarke, you get to go to earth." Was her mothers last words before she was uncounsious.
