Untamed Desires

“Please? I’ll never ask you for another favor again, ever.” I knew that was a lie, and the look on Lena’s face told me she knew it too but that didn’t stop her from going on.

“Okay, maybe not forever ever but at least not for the next few days.” That’s more like the Lena I know and love.

“You, of all people, should know that I hate these kinds of events. It’s just a bunch people who want to show off how much money they have to other people doing the same thing. What about Brad?” Grabbing the coffee pot, I pour myself a piping hot coffee with cream and sugar before sitting on the loveseat. Why can’t everything be as perfect as that first sip of coffee?

Jumping me my lap Lena grabs my coffee and starts drinking it. “Yours always taste so much better”.

Rolling my eyes, I grab my mug back out of her friends. “That’s only because you’re always to lazy to make your own.”

“Tomato tomoto.  Back to what we were talking about, Brad and I broke up. You won’t make me go alone, will you Boo Bear?” She asked giving me her best puppy dog face.

“Poor Brad, probably didn’t even know what hit him.” Walking back into the kitchen, I paced the mug in the sink and grabbed my boots. “I guess I can’t let you go by yourself, what is it and when is it?”

Running to me, Lena hugs with such force we both fall to the ground making us both start laughing. “Thank you Thank you Lex. You’re going to love it. It’s a charity event for victims of child abuse and its tonight night at the hotel across the street from my work. Everyone who’s in the high up ranks of the company will be there.”

“Sounds fun even if it’s the night before New Year’s Eve. It’s a good thing I don’t have a life or I might actually have plans. Only one question, how did you get tickets if it such an upscale event?” Lena was only an assistant for the company and only had been working there for about a year. Slipping my boots on from off the ground, I wait for her explanation.     

“Well my boss is going to be out of town and won’t be able to go, so since I’m so awesome she gave me both of her tickets.” The smile on her face makes me feel bad for even thinking about turning her down, especially because since she has done so much for me.

We’ve been to pees in a pod since the first time we meet our senior year of high school. She was a weird nerdy girl who always had her head in a book and I was the weird girl who wouldn’t talk to anyone. It was a match made in heaven. Since then we have gone through everything together; graduation, college, and moving into our own apartment in the Big Apple together. And after the glasses, braces, and acne disappeared we have become two hot sexy women. 

“As long as it’s not like the time when you said had tickets to go see John Mayer and we instead had to try and sneak in one of the side doors only to get almost arrested.”  Smiling as I remember our first night in college.

“Don’t tell me you didn’t have fun that night, and besides the officer that found us was hot and let us off the just a warning. I wouldn’t have changed a thing about that night expect maybe ask that very handsome officer if he wanted to use his handcuffs on me” Wiggling her eyebrows at me.
