The so called canary wharf army

To think the one thing standing between us and the dead other then a flimsy chain linked fence and the river was the solders if you can Evan call them that you see them patrolling the permitter acting like they know what they are doing when in reality they don't know shit some solders aren't Evan in prober uniform sure they have bits of the British army gear I looked over to one of them guarding the entrance bridge he had a camo jacket with a bright orange hoodie underneath and his trouser where jeans on the guard tower the woman manning the m60 had full camo on but she wasn't Evan watching the permitter she was too busy smoking and playing cards with the other guy up there it makes you think how cocky every one is sure one walker isn't that big of a deal but what about a group all pissed of and hungry. We act like we are in control but in reality we're the ones who had to go into hiding we're the ones at the edge of extinction

At that moment I jumped as I heard our commanding officer shout my last name some say he was a gulf war veteran and had seen 2 tours of Afghanistan and he has a stick so far up his ass he may as well be a lollipop

I looked at him and back at my l85 what is he talking about I cleaned it just last night
Commander.WELL WHATS YOUR EXCUSE OR DO YOU WANT THAT TO JAM ON YOU WHEN THE WALKERS COME HUH
I looked at him wanting to say something cleaver but I bit my tongue and just replied with a
Sorry sir I completely stripped down the weapon last night and then correctly assembled it sir

He walked passed me and headed off to the command tent I then looked down at the small book in my hands and opened it again and started writing
Just got my ass chewed my the commander again I don't know what his deal is I mean I know this ain't the best time but we should pull together not apart who knows maybe this is how humanity goes out by destroying each other
I then finished writing and wrote my name down Christopher wells I then place my book in the top pocket of my army jacket and I picked up my l85 and walked around the fence making sure it was secure of course it's what I'm supposed to do anyway
The sky turns darker
It was night time it was about 10pm just another 2 hours till my shift ended I walked passed the garage which had all our vehicles stored some where of course modified our most powerful one was a revamped fire truck witch we called the Poseidon after the god of the sea it had a browning machine gun mounted inside of it to deal with those walkers that grabbed on the the truck the Water cannon was also upgraded and had a higher presure and with an unlimited amount of water around us it's our key weapon I then looked towards 4 people walking into the outpost it seemed like they where civilians and they had no ID cards on them which was strange i went to go up and ask them what they was doing but our captain did

I saw him reach for something behind his back and deep in the pit of my stomach I had a bad feeling I went to walk over there to warn the captain but then the girl in the tower shouted
Solder.HOLY SHIT ARE THEY WALKERS THEIR EVERY WHERE she sounded the air raid sirens making every solder in the BASE jump up from the own things and run to the fence where dozens of walkers where pushing and pulling at the flimsy fence trying to get in. I looked back at the captain and he ran to the fence whilst those guys whispered something to each other and started to walk off
Jason.CHRISTOPHER MOVE YOUR ASS MAN COME ON
I looked at the captain
Christopher.YES SIR
I ran to the fence and stopped and was just shocked at the amount of walkers there was I looked to the captain who was next to me and he just looked and said
Jason.CHRIST
He aimed his l85 and fired at the fence and me taking that as a signal I fired another. Burst at the fence killing a few walkers I then looked back at the garage where the fire truck was and I saw that group sneaking in there I looked back at the captain and shouted
Christopher.SIR THEY'RE STEALING THE TRUCK
Jason.WHAT
He looked at the garage and saw them
Jason.shit STOP THEM
He went back to shooting
I then nodded and ran to the garage and aimed at the 2 thieves
Christopher.STOP RIGHT THERE
They put their hands up
Christopher.wheres the other guy
Thump
I felt a hard impact on my head and I just fell to the ground and everything went black as the sounds of gun fire faded out
Outside the warehouse
The walkers staggered through the fence as the solders fire randomly with their bullets hitting the walkers in their chest and stomach making the walkers stop for a few seconds and then they continued into the safe zone
A solder aims his l85 and fired it at a walker  and it hit it the face making it drop to the floor and then 3 walkers grabbed hold of him and pulled him to the ground then another solder with an Uzi fell over a bunch of boxes with a walker on top of him and then another solder fell to the floor with a walker on him
Solder.get GET OF ME
And the walkers staggered into the base and then an engine roared and the Poseidon smashed through to doors and drove out of the safe zone into the dead city
As the walkers walked towards the buildings that where lit up like a Christmas tree
While a walker grabbed a hold of a solders head a bit into his cheek and pulled a chunk out as he screamed and the other solders by the crates the walker was eating his shoulder blade
