What is in my closet?

In my closet,

I have things that can be seen

And things that are invisible to the naked eye.

In my closet are my clothes,

Colorful and bright, cheerful.

In my closet live my skeletons

They are dark, mysterious, and depression.

In my closet

I have little red boots

From my innocence of childhood.

I can no longer wear them.

For I am no longer the little girl

Who use to wear them.

In my closet,

I have many shoes.

Stylish but painful,

They walk all over me.

Controlling my every move.

In my closet

I keep my scarves,

They keep me warm.

They also strangle me

With the secrets

That they keep.

Desperately I try to hide

My dark side

To only let others see

The well dressed me.
