Levy bolted upright as soon as her eyes opened. “Where am I?” She was laying on a bed in a strange room. Remembering that Ryuu had drugged and kidnapped her, Levy ran to the door, attempting to open it. “No!” She shouted, pulling uselessly against the locked door. “Solid Script: Fire!” The spell collided with the door with a bang!, but nothing happened. “Solid Script: Wrecking Ball!” Again, her magic did nothing against the door. “There must be some sort of magic protecting it,” Levy sighed, giving up on that route of escape. She searched the room for any other way out, but came up with nothing. “How do I get out of here?!”
“I'm afraid I can't allow that just yet.” As soon as Ryuu entered the room, Levy attacked him with her heat spell. He dodged it effortlessly, grabbing onto her wrists so that she couldn't use her magic. “I just want to talk.”
Levy brought her knee up, hitting him in the groin. As he fell to his knees, she pulled her wrists free and stepped back. “Solid Script: Restraint!” The word snaked around his body, binding his arms and legs so that he couldn't move.
“You're kind of cute when you're angry,” Ryuu chuckled, easily breaking free of her spell.
“Solid Script--” He was to her in an instant, one arm holding down her arms, and the other covering her mouth.
“I don't want to fight you. If you can be calm for five minutes, all I want to do is talk. Can you do that?” Levy nodded, agreeing only so that he would release her.
She took several steps away from him as soon as his arms were gone, and crossed her arms defiantly. “So, I assume you're the one who's been attacking the dragon slayers?”
“Yes.” His immediate confession surprised her. She had expected him to at least try to deny it.
“Why?”
He smiled again, shaking his head. “That doesn't matter.”
“It matters quite a bit!” Levy marched up to him, staring into his blue eyes angrily. “Those were my friends you hurt! One in particular being very special to me!”
“I'm sorry that I've upset you,” Ryuu told her, “but I have a mission to complete. I brought you here to remove you from the battle, in order to protect you.”
“You kidnapped me in order to protect me?!” Levy was completely shocked. “Why?”
“I genuinely like you, Levy, and I don't want you getting caught up in this.”
“I can't just sit back while you hurt my friends!” Levy snapped. “And Gajeel will come looking for me!”
“That metal idiot will be the first to die,” Ryuu snapped back.
Without thinking, Levy slapped him as hard as she could across the face. “If you hurt Gajeel, I'll never forgive you,” she said, tears stinging the backs of her eyes.
He put a hand to his face, staring at her in shock.
“I thought you were a good person, Ryuu! It isn't too late to stop this.”
“Yes, it is,” he sighed. “I'm sorry about this.” He punched her in the stomach, catching her as she fell. “I truly do wish things had turned out differently.”
*Gajeel*
Gajeel threw his bag onto the bed before going to the living room. He sat on the sofa, waiting for Lily to finishing unpacking, and sighed. Being at home felt strange. He had gotten used to Levy's apartment and the makeshift bookcase room he had been sleeping in.
“Why is it so strange being in my own home?” Gajeel growled when Lily entered the living room.
“I know how you feel, but I don't think it's being home that's causing it,” Lily said.
