In a once peaceful land grew gems of unimaginable power. So unimaginable that the world may come to an end because of them...

There are different types of gemstones scattered throughout the world and no gemstone has power like another. They can be combined with certain elements to change the power, but if not done correctly, it can lead to something catastrophic.

A scientist discovers a gem that holds the power of darkness. The gem causes the scientist to hide it somewhere nobody will ever find it, but after many years, the gem was found.
It now belonged to the scientist's nephew, who stole the gem after finding out its power. The scientist's nephew was very smart and wise but exposure to the gem led him to become reckless and evil. He gathered many elements to help him change back into the smart man he was, but it was too late, as he was already fully exposed to the gem's power.
He became lost in his own mind and soon enough, the scientist's nephew was gone. In his place stood a dark soul that had a hatred for the scientist. To feed his bloodlust, the dark soul roamed the world in the nephew's body, to find anyone else of relation to his uncle. His quest failed and he learned that the power of the gem had only gotten stronger while he was gone.
The dark soul's bloodlust came to the king of the land, and in order to end the king's life, he would have to grow stronger and better. He took the dust of a Xanicitis stone, a rare element only found at the core of the world, and combined it with the gemstone of dark power. He used the gemstone's power, which was now uncontrollable, on himself and the dark soul withered away to become a demon of mass power. Ophiuchus. His bloodlust only grew stronger so to set himself free, he would have to take the lives of the world, starting with the King.
This dark power is uncontrollable and cannot be tamed. Ophiuchus' heart is made of the dark gemstone that was combined with the Xanicitis stone, and he would only die if another being with the same heart killed him and banished his soul to the core.
