I was sat Indian style on my bed while writing in my diary, I read over what I've written so far and sighed softly.

 Dear diary,

This is the 6th Christmas I've had without Ross here, and let me tell you...it sucks. I know I talk to him everyday over Skype but it's just not the same. Every time we talk, it's obvious how lonely we both are. Even when we're with our families, it's as though a piece of me is missing. I try not to show it but we've known each other for too long to know when we're hiding something. I just hope that one day I'll be able to see him smiling while I'm standing beside him not sitting behind a computer screen. Anyway I better go, Ross will be calling me any minute now. We even decided on a time to talk, not too early  so that we have other stuff to do after and not too late so we're not tired when we talk. It's perfect. TTYL!:)

Sam xoxo

As I closed my diary and set up my laptop, I pulled my hair into a messy bun while I waited for the call. As soon as I heard the beep, I answered the call and smiled when Ross's face filled the screen.

"Hey Sammie!" He said while stifling a yawn, I giggled at his attempt to hide it. I knew how busy he was lately, so I didn't mind if he wanted to cut the call short.

"How've you been?"

"Good...You know not much has changed in twenty four hours Ross." I replied sarcastically, he chuckled at me as he ran his hand through his hair.

"Haha...Always the joker." He replied while giving me a dry look, I giggled at him as I took in his surroundings. He looked like he was laying on his couch, his head was propped against the pillow as he had the laptop on his stomach.

"So? What about you?"

"What about me?" He asked while scrunching his eyebrows in confusion.

"How's life in showbiz?" I asked curiously, he sighed while running a hand over his face.

"Busy." He managed to get out as he yawned, he mumbled a sorry as he rubbed his eyes.

"Wow...You look really tired."

"Thanks." He mumbled back sarcastically, I giggled slightly which caused him to smile at me tiredly.

"We can cut this short Ross, just so you can catch up on some sleep."

"No we've been waiting all day for this."

"We talk everyday stupid." I said in a 'duh' tone, he rolled his eyes at me playfully.

"Maybe I could...Just this one time." I nodded my head in response, he looked guilty but I reassured him it was fine. It was only one time out of the whole year that it's happened which I can't complain about.

"Speak to you tomorrow." I said with a smile, he nodded as his eyes began to droop. "Sweet dreams Ross."

"Sam?" He said as I was about to end the call, I raised my eyebrows as I looked back at the screen.

"Hmm?"

"Merry Christmas." I felt the tears begin to appear in my eyes, I blinked a few times to hide them before they could fall and bit my lip as I smiled.

"Merry Christmas rockstar." I replied, I blew him a kiss before ending the call. I closed my laptop and slid it under my bed before crawling under the covers. Just as my eyes began to close, I took one last look at the picture of me and Ross on my bedside table before I fell into a dreamless sleep.
