Jeremiah was 18. At least, the last time he checked he was, time passes quickly for those who are dead. He still feels 18 but in reality, it's been 3 years since his death, three years since his heart was forced to stop, three years since over 1000 volts caused his heart to stop. He doesn't remember seeing a bright light or even passing on. He's stuck as a spirit to travel the earth unknown but he doesn't remember having unfinished business.
Isabelle is 17 and is different. Different in the sense that she and her sister were both struck by lightning and survived to tell the tale. But also in the sense that she's able to see a dead guy, Jeremiah, despite having never spoken to him. As far as she can tell; he's the only spirit she's able to see.
Jeremiah and Isabelle have to figure out what binds the two of them so closely. What causes Isabelle to see him after 3 years? Two hearts, one difference. One's beating the other's long dead.
