Let Me Help

The next day, Jacob wore a sweatshirt to cover his bandage, even though it was 80 degrees outside. He pushed past the heat and went inside to his first class.

As he sat down next to Edward, he saw his muscles tense up.

"Hey Edward, are you ok?" Jacob asked looking over to Edward. Edward glared at him, as he smelled the faint smell of blood on him, then sighed.

"Yeah, but are you?" He asked gritting his teeth. Jacob stared at him and was about to say something, but the professor interrupted with his lecture.

Jacob turned to the professor to listen, but couldn't because he noticed that Edward was starring at him.

When the bell rang, Jacob put his notes away and stood up only to be pushed back down by Edward. Edward looked around the room and confirmed that no one was there.

He looked back at Jacob and then at his wrist. Jacob started to panic as Edward tried to pull up his sleeve and pulled his arm away.

"Edward, don't." Jacob said as Edward pulled Jacob's arm back towards him.
He pulled up Jacob's sleeve and saw the bloody bandage.

He looked up and saw Jacob starring at the floor.

"Why'd you do this?" Edward asked in a stern voice. Jacob looked up at Edward and tried to pull his arm back, but Edward's hand wouldn't budge. "Jacob?"

"It's because I felt like you would hate me after what happened yesterday." He whispered, hoping Edward wouldn't hear him. Edward tightened his grip on Jacob's arm causing him to wince in pain.

Edward pulled Jacob up and hugged him tightly, surprising Jacob.

"Please stop this," He pulled back and looked into Jacob's brown eyes,"I don't want to see you like this." Edward let go of Jacob's arm and then left.

Jacob pulled his sleeve down, got up again and left for class. He thought about what Edward said and decided that he would try for him. Try...

Once the day was over, Jacob saw Edward by his bike again with a bag. Jacob walked forward and Edward pulled out something from the bag. He then pulled Jacob towards him and opened the door to his silver Volvo, creating a shield.

"Give me your arm." Jacob gave Edward his arm and silently watched as he started to unwrap the bandages. Jacob heard Edward inhale sharply when he finished unwrapping the bandages, exposing the wounds.

Edward then opened the tube of gel that he had in his hand and spread it on Jacob's skin. The gel felt cold against Jacob's hot skin and he sighed in relief.

"It's an antibiotic cream." Edward said, smiling at Jacob.

"Thanks." Jacob said smiling back at Edward. Edward then went back over to the bag and took out new bandages.

After he finished patching Jacob's arm, he put the rest of the stuff in the back of the car and closed the door. He turned back towards Jacob and saw him getting out a sketch book.

Jacob put the sketch book down and got out a pencil. When he went to pick it up, he saw that it was gone and heard chuckling behind him. He turned around and saw Edward holding his sketch book.

"U-um... Edward? C-can I have that back?" Jacob stood there as Edward flipped through the pages, but then he stopped when he came to a certain page.

He starred at the page and then at Jacob. He then turn the book around to show Jacob and gave him a questioning look.

"You drew a picture of me?" Jacob blushed and looked at the ground. Edward smiled and decided to play with him again.

"Wow, this is great. I never knew I looked this hot." Jacob blushed deeper and felt that if he blushed anymore his nose would bleed. Edward walked forward and tilted Jacob's head up to look at him. He bent down next Jacob's head and smiled.

"Thanks." He whispered and handed Jacob his sketchbook back. Edward turned around and hoped in the driver seat, revving the engine. He then rolled the window down and stuck his head out. "I'll see ya tomorrow Jake." And with that he left.

As Jacob watched Edward's car disappear he had only one thought.

'Well, I'm not gonna be able to sleep tonight.' And with that thought stuck in his head, he drove home.
