The music blared in the small room, David stood over the bed looking at Charon wondering if his friend was going to wake up, he looked over at Erin who slept in the chair on the far side of the room. Looking back at Charon he turned the music up a little both to wake Erin up and to try and jar Charon from his coma, Erin stood up and walked over to him. Laying a hand on his shoulder she said over the music "leave him be for a little while" David looked at her with fierceness burning in his eyes before he left the room to get something to eat, grabbing a bowl and the box of Wheaties he sat down and ate them dry, he was lactose intolerant.
I sit in an open field a tree behind me a sketchbook in front of me, 'I always wanted to be an author and it seems like I'll be here for a while' I began sketching but what I sketched wasn't what I wanted to draw, I was drawing a face, it snarled it was hairy like a wookie but it had black hair instead of brown, it's teeth were sharp like a cats but broad as if they were made to destroy bone and grind meat. It had curling horns that started just above its brow ending like a Rams near its ears, it's eyes had no pupils instead it had plain white eyes, so you couldn't tell if it was looking at you or not. It's nose was a piggish, broad and flat, it looked as if at any moment flames would escape from its nostrils, then it moved I screamed but my mouth didn't move then I felt like someone was pressing against my mind like when I heard the voice before, but this time it didn't force its way in I let it in. 'You are at risk here' it said to me as the face in the page searched for me as I had tossed it away from me 'you have to wake up if you are to have any chance of survival' it said to me 'go into hiding burn all bridges, hone your skills and learn to control your powers'. As the presence faded I looked around and saw the field crumbling, ten I heard a voice singing through to me "I'm not afraid, not afraid"
I jolted up in bed and looked around seeing Erin and hearing the stereo blaring Ghostbusters by Fall Out Boy "where's David?" I asked as Erin stood up looking surprised, "holy shit" she whispered "where's David?" I asked again getting angry, she just stared at me starting to get scared "oh my god" she whispered pointing at my hands. I looked at my hands and saw them aglow with bright objects that looked like mini Suns in the palm of my hands, I calmed down and they shrunk down to the size of golf balls and then they faded out, "where's David?" I asked still looking at my hands. Erin pointed at the kitchen and started to walk out towards it, when I looked at the bed it appeared darker but I couldn't tell if that was because my eyes hadn't adjusted to the low light of the room or if the covers were scorched, David walked in the room and stared at the bed, yep it was scorched, "dude what the hell happened here" he asked me I looked at him with an are-you-kidding-me face and asked "If I knew don't you think I'd tell you dumb ass" he feigned being offended before asking me "can you do it again?" I looked at him before kind of focusing and then the air began getting warm and the small Suns grew from the size of a walnut to the size of a hockey puck, the air got really warm around me "DUDE THAT IS FUCKING AWESOME" David screamed "do you do more than just making lightbulbs" he asked, after I let the Suns die down I flipped him off. When I tried to stand up I almost fell over and David helped me back to the bed sitting me down "you are gonna have to sit here for a while" he told me forcefully, I smirked and said "oh you know how I like it when you take control" he flipped me off and asked "do you want anything to eat" I thought for a second before saying "YES I WANT I HOP" he smiled and said he'd get me some before leaving the room. Erin walked in and sat down looking at me like she was worried "what did you see when you were asleep" 'how did she know I dreamt' I looked at her questioningly "you talk in your sleep" 'dammit' "well there goes the element of surprise" I said sarcastically "I had a weird dream, then I heard a voice" I told her what happened in the dream then what the voice told me "well" she said an expression of complete confusion on her face "it could be your insane, you might have been having weird dreams that happens when you're in a coma sometimes" she said continuing she said "or this could actually be happening, from what I've seen you aren't human" I gave her a look that said 'no shit Sherlock' and she continued "perhaps there are more of your kind that can use telepathy or something" she has a valid point, shut up' the battle in my head waged should I trust the vision and go into hiding, my parents couldn't know where I was going, if this monster knew of them they would be killed. "Are you willing to keep this hidden Erin?" I asked her meaning my dream and that I would be going into hiding "you can count on me" she said saluting me, I smirked as David walked into the room holding a container of I Hop "YES GIMME" I yelled and he threw it to me, as I devoured it Erin explained the predicament to David "do you really think this is happening" he asked me "I mean you think an evil alien race is going to attack us" then I remembered "oh also when I first passed out in the school before Erin found me I heard a voice say something about me and Astrapí or something being the final thorns in the side of the 'Shraman Super-Race'" they looked at me like I was insane "okay and you think that this is reason enough to go into hiding" I nodded "yep also we need to train so that we can kick ass" this got David excited "ok now I think I can do this lets see if flashlight boy can do anything more than heat up your dinner" I snickered 'oh I think I can do a hell of a lot more Davey' "what are you afraid" he taunted "oh" I said "I'm not afraid"
