Emma's pov
I woke up early morning and went to get up, but when I did I was pulled back down on to the bed but something. It was Carl. He must have fell asleep here last night.  I woke him up and we went outside, it felt nice being out there it's been a few hours or days I'm not sure how long I was out. The sun was shining, birds chirping a beautiful song.
After about a hour of walking I told Carl I wanted to go home, so I did.
Once I got home I went into my room, took my bag out of my closet and pulled out my book I write my poems in and read them over like I always do. The first one I read is monster (of course my nickname)
I see the monsters,
They see all my pain.
I tell them my problems,
So they'll scare them away.
I write that when my dad started to hit me. It was my favourite, I sat there in my floor just reading the things I write when I heard a gun shot from my living room down stairs I through my book off my lap, and ran down stairs. When I got there my eyes widened in fear as I seen who stood I front of me....
