"When I was young." The elder woman spoke as she looked down towards the group of children, she had not taken notice that I had been watching and listening to the old crowns stories though she was a bit rude at times I couldn't deny that I loved listening to the legends she spoke of and the myths she heard about over her years. "There was a great darkness that hung over the land. Our kingdom wasn't even finished." The elder added and lifted her hand as she pointed out of the near by window revealing the large castle in the distance, it had a beautiful scenery from far away as the sun settled lightly on the edge of the hill making the castle almost light up from the orange and red colors of the suns set. I would smile and look to the old woman as she continued, "And as the darkness grew so did something else, three brave warriors stood tall calling upon a great power inside of them. They were known as the spirit animal shifters."

The children were in 'awe' as the old woman smiled and spoke more. "They could change into shapes of animals or mythical creatures as they used their strengths to fed off the evil and bring peace to our land. The children had moved closer with the old woman's word grabbing them and pulling their curiosity out more to hear the old woman's tales more, and just like the children, I would find myself also pulled in by the legends and tall tales. "Thus, our kingdom grew and we found peace in our new home. But a legend goes that even though the spirit animal shifters defeated the evil, The evil shall return and bring terror to the land again."

The woman now leaning at the children and holding her hands above her head as she made a scary face the evening sun lighting up the room slightly room making her hands into scary shadow along the wall. The children now frightened looked around and began to think it would be better to leave before the old woman decided to terrorize them and give them nightmares. So the children would then slowly stand and greet the elder with a "good bye" here and there and "thanks for the stories" as they would leave the large hut and make their way home. I in the other hand looked around hearing my name called out.

"Jinx!" I whipped around and see a familiar face and smile as I walk and wave to my best friend "Kyra what are you up to?" I asked and patted her shoulder as we then began to walk through the village. "I hear that the older kids are making a bonfire by the lake we should head out there and check it out." kyra spoke with excitement and as I looked at my friend she would tug on my arm, her skin was creamy white and her eyes blue, fit her perfectly as she also had short blonde hair making it almost white in a way, sometimes I would call her snow as a joke that she was made of actual snow. "Fine.. we will check it out" I answered and smiled letting kyra pull me towards the exit of the village and through the Forrest.

The sun had finally disappeared and the full moon began to rise, though it was beautiful, the Forrest at night was still frightening to most. "I'm grateful that Ben decided to make the gathering through these woods instead of the forbidden Forrest." Kyra shivered and smiled towards me. I would nod and agree flipping my dark red hair out from covering my eyes though they were unnatural, one being red and the other a silver color. "Yeah last time was a bust. Couldn't make it half way with out running into a unshifter." I said softly and looked around, seeing through the trees was easy because of the full moon lighting up night.

What made it hard was the shadows and how they almost seem to move as we walked down the dark trail. "Careful jinx. Some say if you speak of them they will appear they are lost souls after all" kyra would stop and look at me with a serious look. "Do you think it's true?" She asked and looked a bit frightened, perfect. I  thought and looked around and then back to my best friend, who was beginning to grow in fear. A smirk appeared on my face as I began to think of ways to scare her. "Oh I don't know maybe it's just a myth" I said trying to keep a straight face.
