5. Auditions
Before I knew it, it was Wednesday. I was so scared.
I woke up feeling like it was a normal day, but then I realised and mutant butterflies with razor blade wings started having a party in my stomach.
Its Oliver Twist audition day.

I put down my bacon sandwich. I couldn't eat.
'Awh, cumm'on!' Bonnie squealed, 'You've gotta eat something!'
I stared at my breakfast, I'd only taken one bite.
'Ugh... I think I'm going to be sick.' I got up but her small arms pushed me back down again.
'Sit. Eat.' She pointed at my sandwich and mouth, 'Do you need a demonstration?' I squatted her cheek. How does she stay this calm and happy?
'Are you on drugs or something?'
'No way!!' She jumped up.
'Awh man, I would take them if you did. I'm so freaking nervous!'
She laughed and sat down. I would have, but I really was just so scared. Oh well. This stress was what pushed me, what made me perform.
But it was still stress.

Bonnie skipped out of the theatre.
'How'd it go?' I asked nervously, she'd just done her audition.
'Great, I think...I hope!' She smiled. 'Dang, I'm glad that's over, I can forget about it now.'
'Forget about it?' I asked indredulously.
'Yup.' She said, popping the 'p'.
I just stared at her in awe, how does she do it? They started to call out a name...
'Kimber, Aaron.' A voice called.
'Oooh, it's Aaron's turn.' Bonnnie said excitedly, I just don't get this girl.
He walked through the crowd, making sure to pass us.
'Good Luck.' I called.
'I don't need luck.' He said as his arm brushed against mine, I thought my heart skipped a beat.
He turned around and winked, and with that, he had disappeared through those ominous black doors.

I seemed to wait forever for my turn to come. There was only a handful of people left, all waiting to be called for Nancy.
I stood silently next to Mary-Lynn. She was a lot nicer when she was quiet.
'Okay, quiet down please,' The voice called, it was almost like I was waiting to be called to my death or something. 'Fern, Olivia.'
Shit. That's me. It's my turn now. It took me a moment to move as I walked forward, the people in front parting like the red sea.
I took some deep breaths and turned to the lady calling us, I looked at her name tag, Sarah.
'Good luck dear.' I smiled tightly and then braced myself to walk through those stupid black doors.

I walked out of the theatre, it felt instantly better, a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.
