~A Pre-Read for a Broken Soul~

-The Leaves of Autumn-

Everyone is a lair

Vent to me how he left

Every broken promise he left, still locked inside of you

Rays of hope, slowly slipping

Your eye’s dying in the light of day

One day, you hope, things will be different

No one knows how far you’ve come since Him

Each day like a living monster, tearing you apart

Leaves fall off the tree in autumn

Earth becomes colder; feelings become sharper

A small breath struggled out of your lungs

Verify your love for him still; tell me of your loss

Exact moments stuck in your head, on replay

Save you? Darling, everyone is too busy trying to save themselves

-Winter-

“What happened here, my dear?”

He lied

You don’t understand

Never even saw it coming; he promised

Our life we were supposed to share, gone

The light, it burns my heavy eyes

No one told me the risks of love

On my own, I learned to breathe again

With each breath I still struggle

Now it’s autumn, and I miss his warm arms

Overreacting, they all tell me

The air I gasp out is more timid than the breeze

Everyone tells me to forget, but I can’t; I love him

Vile memories stuck in my head

Exhausted down to my bones, please save me

Reaching for your hand, but you walk away anyways

-Suicide-

It’s raining

Some drops are big some are small

But the rain is still…

Beautiful

Like you

You are beautiful like rain

Some parts you love, some parts you hate

But to you, you are….

Ugly

Ugly like a dog

A mangy mutt on the streets

Without its tail and teeth

Starving and mean….

Like your dad

You dad

Used to come home drunk every night

Open your door and kick you out of bed

Curse in your face, he called you…

A little ugly dog

So you believed it

But when I met you, the stars aligned

And I knew you had to be mine

You've reached the end of published parts.
