I sighed as I finished the third paragraph of my essay, only two more to go. The topic had became dull, considering we had written about it during all four years of high school. I would rewrite what I wrote then, but the purpose of these essays is to show growth.
I slammed the lid of my laptop shut, and I began cracking all the joints in my hands, loosening them up after the typing sessions. I lived in an apartment with my best friend, Alice. She was currently at her boyfriend's dorm room, the place where she usually was. I don't mind it, I could use space, but I just know that she's going to move in with him. The only problem I have with that is that paying for the apartment would be hard. Alice is paying most of the rents with her parents money, while I'm hardly paying with the money I get from my job at Red Lobster.
Deciding to finally get out of the house, I pull a grey sweatshirt over my thin tank top, and slide my athletic shoes on. The cold autumn air hits my face as I lock my door behind me. I approach my car, and hop in, putting the key in the ignition.

I arrive at Green Oak woods, having twigs and leaves crunch beneath me. My pace starts out slow, then proceeding into a sprint. Dodging tree branches and bushes, I blow out all the negativity, and breathe in hope. My thighs and calves scream at me to stop, as my ribs begin to ache. I reach the end of the trail, gasping for air.
"Hey!"
I whipped around to see an attractive man behind me. His dark hair was messy, with sweat collecting around his face. His eyes were bright, surprising against his tanned skin and dark hair. He could easily pass for a model, considering his built body, and chiseled face. Not knowing this man's intentions, I slowly back away.
"Hi," I say with uncertainty.
"I was just going to say that you dropped this somewhere along the trail." His hand reached into his pocket and pulled out a plastic card with my face and name on it. My drivers license.
I sighed with relief. "Oh thank you. You're a lifesaver," I say as I take the item out of his hand.
"No problem, I know I'd hate to loose my ability to drive," he said with a chuckle.
Maybe he was around my age. Being seventeen nowadays can make it hard for people to tell your age. Many thirteen year olds look as if they could buy liquor from gas stations without being carded, so it's hard to tell. But the way he kept his hair in a sort of long state shows that he most likely was in his teen years.
"Well...thank you again. I should really be going now," I say, ready to get home and wash off. "It was nice meeting you."
I held his gaze as I slowly walked in the opposite direction, then suddenly broke it. He didn't say anything in response to my departure until my fingers had touched the door handle of my car.
"It's weird that you said that, when you don't even know my name."
I turned around to see that he had followed me to my car, my mind going blank.
"What?"
"You said that it was nice meeting me, when you haven't even met me."
"Well," I said, growing impatient. "If I learned your name would I be able to go on my way?"
He looked at me for a moment, considering me.
"Only if I get to have your number also."
I don't know about this, I'm not the type to hand out my number and information to everyone I meet. Plus, I'm not looking, no matter how attractive he is. I don't need any commitment.
I guess a fake number wouldn't hurt anything.

I sighed as my slightly damp hair hit the pillow case, my body hitting the soft mattress. I grabbed my laptop, scrolling through tumblr. I wasn't one to post on aesthetic blogs or anything, I was just one to look. The pictures put my mind at ease and the quotes that are undoubtedly bold made the website worthwhile.
Alice was still at her boyfriends, which made the small apartment very quiet.
The apartment was alright, given the money we had. We had three rooms in total, a bathroom, a living room joined with a kitchen, and our room that we shared. It wasn't fancy by no means, but we both loved it, it was cozy.
A ring from the laptop punctured the silence, startling me. It was a message from an unknown guy on facebook. I clicked on the message, seeing it was the guy who found my license.
"Hm, fake number? I see how it is Faith."
