Caspian sat in the pin, as he liked to call it, and sighed. He'd been there for seven hours straight thanks to some slippery fucker that kept getting away from the squad. The squad consisted of Detective Grey, himself, three guys Caspian avoided, and a sassy woman Caspian often found himself talking to.

Detective Grey walked in with his hulking form and looked around at us all who sat amongst the wooden desks. Damn the man was built to cut bricks with his bare hands.

"Listen up! We have a new guy coming in. Detective Knight will be have in the morning so don't be your regular selves!"

Caspian watched the man's arms bunch with the defined muscles. Had he not already told his sharp tongued friend, Carmen, he would keep his hands to himself he would have cornered the older man. Pulling his combat boot clad feet from the desk he sat at he stretched his long arms.

"Caspian. You'll be assisting him in a new case."

"But we are close in this-"

"Caspian, I know it's doing a number in you. Your scales are visible."

Caspian pulled the sleeves of his shirt down and stood. He hated when the demanding, my-word-over-all, man did this in front of everyone.

"Fuck you Luke. I'm out. If I don't have anything else better to do I'll be back tomorrow."

Grabbing his bag, he passed the overbearing detective, who was close to being captain. The snickering men at one of the desks made Caspian want to strike them, then Luke.

Making his way out of the room just for them he travelled through the mazes of desks the belonged to the rest of the supernatural floor. He heard his name being called but ignored it and exit was in his line of sight.

"Caspian what gives?"

The slender hand had him yanking his arm away before turning.

"Carmen not now I'll call you later."

Turning on his heels, Caspian bolted out into the lobby and into the almost closed elevator. He took a few deep breaths then stood up straight in time to see his assistant appear next to him in a gust of wind. She stared at him silently then offered the cup of water she held.

"Drink up. You have a packed schedule and we are already late sir."

He took the cup gently then kissed her cheek. She grimaced at his dry lips and cold touch probably, but then smiled. Downing the cold water he sighed and watched the lit up numbers tick to each floor.

Once the doors opened he headed out with Nora following close. They stepped out into the early morning night. The man in the all black BMW opened the door the ushered them inside.

As the car pulled away from his hobby of sorts he thanked the heavens he wasn't human. He closed his eyes, the dryness from his skin eased with each intake of water. Caspian had a packed schedule and it wouldn't be ending until around time for him to go back to the station. Maybe he wouldn't go back ...it wasn't in him though.
