What Did You See? (Part 1)
One Shot

That was 4 years ago, I guess, when I met Ace. Well, that time ko sya nakilala pero 6 years ago ko pa siya napa-pansin. There's something different about him. Curiousity kills.

Nakita namin sya sa Freedom Park habang nagdi-date kami ng boyfriend ko. I think his eyes bore at us before he did that thing. Parang nag-bigay sya ng nakakalokong tingin and he grab something in his backpack but its nothing. As in wala syang hawak pero nag-gesture sya na nagbu-bukas ng imaginary payong (mainit kasi that time) tapos naka-hang lang yung kamay nya na parang may hawak talaga. Then umakbay sya sa imaginary someone sa kaliwa. Usap-usapan na din kasi sa Bus. Ad bldg. ang ka-weirduhan nya daw. Wala syang kaibigan and he always do that imaginary thing daw. I want to know him more or talk to him. So I talked to him.

Goshes! Kung wala lang akong boyfriend, kinaibigan ko na sya. He's so handsome kaso turn-off sa mga girls, sayang. He was holding an imaginary tumbler, drinking imaginarily. I was laughing nung lumapit ako at umupo sa tapat niya dahil nagi- isa lang sya sa table.

"Hi." No response! Then I say Hi again pero no response pa din so I think of another tactic.

"Why did you do that when you saw us in the park?"

Maraming nagsa-sabi na matalino daw sya, sumasagot sa recitation but most of the time he does that imaginary things.

"What did you see?" Sobrang saya ko na kasi sumagot sya. Shucks!

"What?"

"What did you see?"

"Nothing. I saw nothing."

"No. You see something or someone." Naguluhan na ako. I can't understand him.

"Fine. Tell me, anong nakita ko?" Lumapit sya sakin then he look at my eyes.

"Me. You noticed me finally. In all those years nang pagiging baliw sa harap ng maraming tao, kahit hindi naman talaga ako ganon. You finally notice me. I caught your beautiful eyes after 3 years."

"What?" He didn't answer me though. Tumayo na sya, dala ang tray at bag, at kinindatan ako bago umalis.

After that day, usap-usapan ang pagiging normal ni Ace. Hindi na sya katulad nang dati at hindi na nya ginagawa yung imaginary things.

He's a normal college guy now at mas lalong dumami ang mga babaeng may gusto sa kanya. Lagi nya akong ngini-ngitian kapag nagkaka-salubong kami kasama ang boyfriend ko.

"You never noticed me because you had a boyfriend noong 1st yr. college ka pa lang. Napansin mo lang ako simula doon sa park. I badly wanted your attention, Macy, but everytime I saw you, you're with your boyfriend.

It hurts so I keep on doing abnormal things and I finally got your attention. Sobrang saya ko lalo nang umupo ka sa table kung nasaan ako at nagkaroon tayo ng conversation' dalawa. And now that you are hurting, please don't shoo me away. I like you, okay? I like you."

I was shocked. Nag-break kami ng ex ko that time and he was there for me. Well, not until today...

'Cause he's standing in front... when the door opens for me to walk in the aisle.
