Six months. It's been six months since Emily was adopted. Six months since she has last seen her parents. Six months since she's lost one best friend. Six months since her life has almost changed.

Almost.

It was eight o'clock on a Saturday morning and things had been going normal. Normal as in still processing the thought that Emily had become Anna's daughter. It felt surreal like in those movies where the girl and guy gets their happy ever after or the team wins the final game. This was no movie though. It was real life and it was her life now.

Emily had been laying in her over sized yet comfy bed since she woke up. She stared up at the ceiling having an idiotic smile form across her face. She closed her eyes for a brief moment and whispered to the one she always thanks for giving her this new life.

"Everyday seems to be getting better and better. My mood has changed much more. I'm not tired, angry, upset, hurt, or confused. I'm finally-well, almost reaching where I need to be. I love this. I love Anna-my mom..." she paused and grinned even more.

"I love the clothes, food, the house, and everything that she has provided me with. I'm beyond grateful. Although, there are things that aren't ready to be mention. Anyway, I gotta go, but thank you, lord..."

Emily sits up taking the time to stretch and yawn. She looks around her room, enjoying the basic necessities that she was given. A medium sized queen bed with teal blue covers, covered in white swirling designs and was placed in the corner of her room. She had a vintage wooden bookcase with beautiful engraving that draws out a person. It contained a variety of different genre of books. Starting with fiction books then ending with thrillers. It was pressed neatly against the wall in the center. She has a dresser on the other side of the room near the door, so when you walk in you'd have the light switch then the heavy wooden dresser. The last thing she had was a small reading area which allows her to sit in a bean bag and read all her novels or think or draw. It was relaxing and peaceful to the small girl.

When she had first arrived, her room was used as a storage room, but was originally used as a tiny old game room. Emily was asked if she wanted to redo the room to make it fit her liking. She had nicely declined that offer. One, because she found comfort in the old room, two, because she didn't want Anna to spend lot of money on her nor did she want to pester the 5'2 woman about designs and what not.

"Emily, are you ready?" The voice of her 'mother' questioned.

"Uh, no, Anna, I just woke up, but I'll be ready in about twenty minutes." Emily says.

A frown formed upon Anna's features. It hurt her that Emily hasn't been able to call her mom for the past six months; however, she managed to deal with it for the time being. After all, the smaller girl was still getting used to her new life.

There were so much that Emily has sill yet to learn. Living with a celebrity is never easy. Sure you may think that it's everything you'd want, but after dealing with paparazzi, rumors, crazy fans, and interviews, you may want to rethink about what you're getting yourself into.

"I'll be waiting out in the car, okay?"

"Yes ma'am."

A small smile had replaced the tiny frown on Anna's face. She nodded her head before shutting the door to the younger girl's room and heading outside. There was something that the thirty-two year old woman noticed. It was like her insides were filled with chaos as if there were tiny ant scrambling around. Something ached inside of her. Something was so wrong, so invalid but Anna couldn't tell what is was. She couldn't pin point the cause for this unexplained pain. It was all confusing like a jumble set of a puzzle. A puzzle the Anna couldn't solve.

Sitting out in the car gave Anna time to think about how she could make Emily feel more comfortable and secure around her. She wanted the girl to be able to talk without having to feel as if she's meeting the queen, or president, or even a simple teacher. Of course Anna admire how well mannered the dirty blonde was just, at the same time she wished Emily could talk to her like she's a friend.

It won't be now.

It won't be soon.

It would be later, much later, but that's okay.

She'll take one step at a time.
