(My own characters pov)

I know I wasn't supposed to be scared, but I was terrified. I'm going to die. I'm going to die, I kept repeating in my head.

I was ripping through the trees, they were right behind me. I could hear the snapping of the twigs on the branches. My throat was screaming out for blood, I was so weak.

Endlessly, the twigs ripped at me as I shot through the forest. No doubt my body was covered in cuts, blood dripping from me. Tears streamed down my face. Then I had an idea. A single thought that was my only chance of escaping death. I had to brake in somewhere. In someone, anyone's house. They couldn't touch me there, couldn't kill me there. My only hope of safety. My head was pounding, I wouldn't be able to last much longer, I could feel myself slowing down.

I was at the edge of the forest now; my skin was so damaged I couldn't even feel the knives of the branches cutting into me anymore. I sneaked a glance behind me. They were gaining on me, fast now.

Then I saw it. A house of sorts was near. A large looking house. My body was screaming for me stop, it kept drooping closer to the ground. But no, If I was going to live, I needed to carry on. Just a little further. I could see a window now, and a light inside. Perfect. As soon as we were in sight of everyone down below, I heard them screech to a halt behind me.
"Damn you! We'll be waiting!" One of them shrieked out in a deep, menacing voice. My heart felt a little heavy now. They'd stopped and I hadn't. I was safe.
Then, without thinking of how I was going to approach this situation, I smashed through the window of the house, I landed on a wooden floor. My ears were ringing as I looked up.

A tall, confused looking boy stared right at me.
