There will be violence and major character death. You have been warned.
We stood outside of the aged, eerie house. Our goal for tonight was to find the infamous "Wailing White Lady" that supposedly lived there. Local legend has it that the Wailing White Lady went insane and murdered her two young children and her husband. Then, when she realized what she had done, she committed suicide. People say that if you visit the Wailing White Lady at midnight on Halloween night, she will kill you how she killed herself, her husband, and her kids.
"Uh, Vic... is this a good idea? Should we, like, go back now? Please?" I squeaked, looking up at my boyfriend, Vic. "It's okay." He told me as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder. I looked over at Oli and Tay, realizing that they were staring at us. "Let's go!" Tay told us, aggressively motioning for us to follow her into the house. Vic, Oli, and I followed her into the dark abyss of the abandoned house. We all quickly switched on our flashlights to reveal a wasteland of moldy wood, old furniture, peeling floral wallpaper, and dust. "Ugh, this is so gross..." Oli complained from behind Vic and I. Tay coughed, but other than that, she kept quiet. "Shhh!" She hushed as Oli kept complaining. We carefully made our way up the creaking stairs, the floorboards seeming to move every time we stepped. That's when we heard her. The Wailing White Lady. Her screams pierce through our eardrums and sent Oli flying to the floor. When I ran over to see if he was okay, he was stone cold, his eyes lifeless. I tried to shake him awake but to no avail. His hands fell to the side to reveal small streaks of crimson blood dripping from his ears. I screamed while Vic held me in a tight hug.
When I looked over at Tay, I saw her on her knees, crying. Oli had been her best friend since birth, pretty much. I gently broke out of Vic's tight hug and attempted to comfort her by rubbing her back. Suddenly, I heard more footsteps behind me. When I saw who it was, I jumped backward . The Wailing White Lady walked gracefully over to Tay and started whispering something in her ear. "Stop! No! Get away from me!" Tay cried as she rocked back and forward while tightly covering her ears. I could tell that she was on the verge of madness. Suddenly, she disappeared. The Wailing White Lady vanished into thin air. Vic and I breathed a collective sigh of relief. Tay leaped up. She wasn't on the verge of madness anymore, she was there. Tay Jardine had gone completely and utterly mad. She sprinted towards the railing, and before I could even comprehend what was going one, Tay jumped. Vic and I rushed over to assess the damage and we leant over the broken railing. Tay's body was mangled and limp, sickly twisted into a human knot. Her arms were twisted into unhealthy shapes behind her back and her head at a sickening 90° angle. I gasped and stepped back, only just realizing what had happened. Vic hugged me, which was comforting, but didn't help all that much. I wanted to cry, but couldn't. It was like my body was trying to stay strong, but my mind was already broken. "We have to get out of here." I cried softly. Vic grabbed me around my shoulders and led me to the stairs.
That was when I felt the knife. My heart pounded and I fell to the floor, collapsing onto my knees. I screamed in agony, clutching my stomach where I had been stabbed. My gut was churning, and not from the knife. "Kells! Kells, no. No, don't leave me. No..." He sobbed as he rushed to my side. I felt my eyes closing but I tried my best to fight it. That was what you were supposed to do, right? Close your eyes and you die? That's what the movies told me. Finally, I had succumbed to the dark, eternal abyss. "Kells! Kellin... No... I love you, Kellin... Always..." I faintly heard Vic say. Then, everything was silent.
