Draco sat in the Slytherin common room trying to talk to his friends but his mind wasn't able to focus on the conversation. Instead it roamed off to the many different topics he was worrying about.
"The first years aren't so bad this year," Pansy went on, pulling the collar of her practically unbuttoned shirt.
"That's true," Said a pale, black haired boy sitting the opposite of Draco. His voice was deep and slow.
"What do you think, Draco?" Pansy asked snapping Draco out of his thoughts at the sound of his name.
"Uh, what?" He questioned shaking his head slightly.
"About the first years this year," she replied in a slightly confused and worried way. She had been noticing the small moments when he would drift off into his own thoughts.
"Oh, right, sorry. They aren't that bad. Still first years."
"Are you alright," she asked him putting her hand on his shoulder.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I need go do something." He lightly pushed her hand off his shoulder and got up from his spot in the room. He walked slowly to boy's dorms trying to not make himself look anymore suspicious than he already did. He took a few steps to his bed then pulled out a small card addressed to him. It had been from Hermione, the brilliant, bushy haired, Gryffindor.
Dear Draco,
I have been meaning to tell you so many things. I also have quite a few questions. What I really have been meaning to tell you is, I have feelings for you. I don't even know why and I understand if you don't feel the same. I know you'll hate me more for this but if you could please meet me in the 6th floor corridor nearest to the bathroom on Saturday at 9 that would be great. Or at least write something back.
Love,
HermioneHe had read the note hundreds of times but still didn't completely understand. He didn't understand why Hermione would like him when he had treated her like dirt. Today was Saturday and with that Draco had been thinking about whether he was going to meet her or not.
"Hey, are you okay?" A voice from behind him asked. Draco jumped and quickly turned around.
"Oh, Blaise, it's just you. Yeah," He replied.
"Are you sure? You have been acting really strange lately."
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"Okay," Blaise replied with a questioning and worried tone in his voice. Draco quickly put the letter back into the envelope then walked out of the room. When he got to the entrance of the common room he carefully looked around the corners of the door making sure no one saw him out of his dorms so close to curfew. As he walked the corridors and up the stairs he started to play with his fingers. He felt a sudden rush of nervousness go through his body and he felt a sudden drop in his stomach when he saw Hermione sitting on the ground next to the 6th floor bathrooms. He walked up to her quickly putting his shaky hands into his pockets. Hermione looked up from the ground. When she saw that it was Draco walking up to her and not just another random student she quickly got to her feet patting down her skirt.
"Hi, I didn't think you were going to come," she said rather quickly.
"Yeah, I didn't think I would either," he said rolling his eyes slightly trying to still look tuff.
"Yeah," she let out with a small breath as she began to pull and play with the bottom of her sweater. They stood there awkwardly for only a few seconds until a sudden burst of confidence came over Draco.
He took a few slow steps towards her then grabbed the back of her head slowly leaning in pressing his lips against her's. She rapped her arms around the tall boy's small waist. The kiss only lasted for a moment but it felt like forever and neither of them want it to stop. Draco was the one to pull away looking into Hermione's eyes.
"You have no clue how long I've wanted to do that," he told her. Hermione's face turned a slight shade of red. As she stepped back from him the he began to slightly frown.
"Are you playing with me?" She quickly asked. As soon as she asked she wanted to take the question back.
"What?" Draco was genuinely confused but Hermione couldn't tell if he was acted or not.
She took a few steps back," I mean, are you playing with me? Like, you're just doing this so you can laugh at me later." She wasn't looking at him at this point her eyes had averted to her feet. As she stood there nervously pulling on the him of her skirt, Draco took a few steps towards her and put his hands on her shoulders.
Again, he pulled her closer and pushed his lips onto hers. At this moment she knew it was real. As if they had been together forever and their past never happened. She tried to think of all the horrible things he had done but they had been erased from her mind all together. Their mouths collided.
Draco ran his hands up his up from her waist to her curly hair. He tangled his hands into the soft strands. He didn't want this to end. It felt like his heart was going to burst out of his chest. Hermione's lips, slightly chapped, tasted of sugary sweets.
Hermione made a soft noise and pulled her head back. She looked in the pale boy's bright blue eyes. All the things around them had faded. His eyes were all she was worried about. She pulled him closer to herself then rested her head onto his chest. She heard his heartbeat steadily slow down and could feel his long breathes. She wasn't afraid of him anymore.
As Draco played with her hair all his worries went away. Everything seemed like nothing.
"Believe me now?" He asked looking down at her face. She blushed slightly and smiled.
"Yes."
