Brand New School

Chapter Two

   The school looked beautiful. It looked at least ten stories tall and 2,000,000,000 feet long. The building was stark white with platinum lined windows that lined classrooms and what looked like dorms rooms. I saw kids from my age to 18 year olds. There were also teachers that looked around 30 years old and that was the oldest. I could see kids with fire shooting out of their hands, water coming out of someone's hair. Wait, that was their hair. I could see someone bending light, making it change colors and shapes, occasionally turning it into a glowing animal. The student controlling the light seemed to be cheering up a child crying, but instead of clear tears coming out of the crying kids eyes, they were pitch black, and around the kid, darkness was seeping out from around him. Then I noticed something, the glowing animal wasn't just cheering up the sad kid, it was making the blackness disappear so other students wouldn't be affected. I thought that was pretty cool. "Olivia. Olivia, dear," my mom said quietly. It looked as though she was seeing the same thing as me. "Mrs. Firmus is going to give you a special tour."

"Are you going to leave?" I asked. I hate to admit, I'm scared out of my mind. I don't know if I am insane or not because I can't comprehend what I'm seeing.

"I'm staying, don't worry. I imagine you're feeling the same way as I felt when it was my first day of school."

"Thanks." Just then, a beautiful woman came walking through crowd. She was beautiful because she looked strong and ready to take on the world, the exact opposite of how I look. Mrs. Firmus held herself with such poise, I felt myself straightening up. She wore a flowery dress that made her seem even more approachable. Her smile was dazzling. The crowd of kids parted just for her. She smiled and talked to some students, even addressing them and asking them how their powers were coming along, one even demonstrated for her. Once she got over to me she said," Come on, Olivia! Let's go decorate your dorm room!"
