Chapter Three: Amusement Park Trouble

'I can't believe that Ruben is actually taking me to the amusement park. I love them so much and I'm glad that I get to finally spend some time with Ruben, but that also might be because I have a crush on him.'

I walk beside Ruben as we walk up to the gates of the amusement park and I smile widely. Ruben says "someone sure is happy." I say "well I haven't been to a place like this in a long time." Ruben says "well you can play any game you want and ride any ride you want." I smile more as I look at him and we soon go into the amusement park after paying. I look around and wow this place is amazing. I'm sure there are other creatures here like Ruben, but tonight is all about fun and not worrying about anything. I pull Ruben over to a game that has huge teddy bears and I ask "will you play it for me?" Ruben says "alright. I'll play this game for you." I smile as I sit with Ruben, watching him as he soon starts playing the game and the person soon says "winner." I can't believe that he won and he gets the prize for me. He says "here you go. One oversized teddy bear." I chuckle as I hug the teddy bear, but soon I sense a change in the area and I move closer to Ruben. Ruben looks around as he soon pulls me with him and I ask "where are we going?" Ruben says "that sappy ride that couples go on so that we can lure the person hunting you to it." I blush slightly, but nod as we get into one of the boats for the ride and Ruben makes it move on its own after shutting the ride down. I shake a little because I don't really like that we're going to be luring someone in here and that Ruben is going to just fight this person. I feel the boat stop and I look at Ruben. He says "stay in the boat." I go to speak, but he's already out of the boat standing on the walk way that employees use and I hold the teddy bear close to me.

Oh god this is getting scarier by the minute and soon I hear someone walking towards where we are. Ruben says "get down Brian." I nod as I get down, sitting on the floor of the boat as I shake a little and soon I see the person that was following us. Ruben says "you shouldn't be here Trax." Trax smirks as he says "you shouldn't be here with a human. I think you're getting soft on us Ruben. Our kind are supposed to kill humans and become the superior race. We are also supposed to destroy the werewolves." I can't believe someone just said that when I'm right here and Ruben says "I have never thought killing a human was good. We are able to live in peace with them just like the werewolves, but then we have people like you who think otherwise. I don't agree with your thoughts." I shiver when Trax jumps onto the boat and I stare up at him as I hold the bear tighter to me. Trax says "you're going to learn Ruben that humans are worthless. I'm going to show you by making an example out of this human who seems to be your boyfriend." My eyes widen as I watch this vampire and he soon tries to reach for me, but nothing happens. I watch Ruben fight with the man and I shiver as I soon get out of the boat. I sit on the opposite side of them as I watch them fight and I watch the other guys every moves. Sicero taught me to watch movements to predict the next move if I was ever in a fight with someone and soon I see the man pull out a dagger. I yell "Ruben look out!" Ruben twists the guys arm as he says "you are not going to poison me today kid." I watch him break the guys arm after getting the dagger and he soon comes over to where I am. He throws the dagger down, breaking it with his foot and soon helps me up. He says "let's get out of here now." I nod as he grabs my hand and we start running.

I can't believe that he pretty much risked his life for me of all people and I just want to be back at his home, possibly cuddling with him. I keep running with him as we soon get to the car and I get in on the passenger side. I sit there as I look down and Ruben says "thanks for catching what that guy was going to do. I would have been poisoned." I say "well you can thank my brother for teaching me how to predict moves." Ruben smiles as he soon parks on the side of a dirt road and he says "your brother is one of my top men in my gang. I'm surprised that he would teach you something like that Brian." I say "well he told me that he's not always going to be around to protect me and that I need to find someone to love as well. It's hard trying to find someone to love, but protecting myself is not as hard." I sigh softly as I look out the window and Ruben says "being in love is a test all in its own. Sometimes you find it and sometimes you have to be broken to find true love." I look back at him as I listen to his words and I say "well I've never been in love with anyone. All those guys that I went on dates with, well they wanted me just for sex and that's all." Ruben shakes his head and says "that's no way to treat anyone. You have to show someone compassion and show them they are loved. Let's get back to the house. I'm sure you're tired." I nod as I stay sitting quietly as we head to the house and part of me wonders why Ruben was telling me what he told me.

'Is Ruben hiding something or is he actually just giving me advice? I'm not sure what he's doing, but I guess I want to believe that he's hiding feelings for me and that even though he's a vampire we could be together.'
