The next few days I stay after school just so I can see the boys practice. I sit in my history teachers classroom, glancing up through the window down at the boys practicing below. Everyday at 4:00 when I know they're getting ready to pack up, I throw my things into my bag and say goodbye to Mrs. Gahller, my history teacher.
Today as I watch the boys from the upstairs window, I notice that Louis sits out on the bench most of the time. I frown as I pack my things up and bound down the stairs, wondering why. I wait outside the gym doors as the boys walk by, waiting for Louis and Matt who stay after to gather the balls. My father gives me a stern look as he walks by, talking to Jordan and his buddies.
"Hey Cassie." Matt smiles, wiggling his eyebrows at me as Louis and him walk by. I roll my eyes and follow them inside. But before I can follow them down the hall to the storage room, my dad catches my arm.
"Come on, Cass. We're leaving." He drags me out the inside gym doors and down the main hallway outside.
"How come you didn't let Louis play today?" I question him as he gets in the car next to me.
"He's slacking."
"And you're lying. I've seen him play, dad." I say, raising my eyebrows at him.
"Okay, I admit he is one of the better players, but I've been getting complaints from some of the boys, including Jordan." Of course you did.
"Oh." I sigh, leaning my head against the window.
"Why are you asking?" He looks over at me while he waits to turn out onto the road.
"Just wondering."
"He's a very charming boy, better looking than most of the other boys, but you know what I say." He smiles over at me.
"'Just because I lead a group of hot boys around doesn't mean you get a chance to play them all.'" We both say at the same time, and he laughs.
Can't I at least play one boy?

"Dad, I'm heading over to Katie's house." I yell up the stairs, grabbing my bag.
"Be careful, Cass." He yells back from his office.
I run out the giant wood door, sending a quick text to Katie.
-If my dad calls, I'm at your house.
I walk down the sidewalk, looking for Matt's car. He said he'd be at the house right next to Louis', and that if I could find his red Jeep I'd be at his house.
I make a right at the next corner, and I see Matt's Jeep in the next driveway. I smile to myself as I walk past the house, and I see Matt and Lee waving from the window. Matt secretly gives me a thumbs up, and I shake my head laughing at him.
Walking up the path to the door, I'm suddenly a little nervous. I hope Louis' the one who opens the door. My hopes are not grants, a little girl answers, a huge smile on her face.
"Hi!" She says cheerily, and I can't help but smile down at her.
"Fizzy, who is it?" I hear someone's voice call, and seconds later a pretty women comes to the door.
"Hi, can I help you with something?" She questions, putting a hand protectively over the little girls shoulder.
"You wouldn't happen to be Louis Tomlinson's mother, would you?" I ask as politely as I can, brushing my hair out of my eyes.
